I started magic when I retired and my grandchildren were born. Obviously I have improved over the 25 years but have never done a public show although I do some table hopping at local charity events and entertain my extended family.
However my wife is 80 later this year and I am looking for suggestions for a small stand up trick/routine that will involve the audience that I can use during my congratulatory speech,
The problem is never having done any standup and living on a small island there is no one to ask so I am hoping that I can purchase something funny and suitable.
Thanks

In what context do you want the audience to be involved?
How many people in the audience?

I've always used a paper hat tear that is just great for that situation.

Great for stand-up, very visual and gets great reactions.

How about a "Split Deck" (dealer item in jumbo or poker size cards). You both select 1/2 of a card from a different mixed-up half of the same deck. When each of you shows the half card you selected it is discovered each card is 1/2 of the same card!

Your storyline may be how this illustrates how you've both been on the same "wave length" all these years, etc.

Have FUN. Smile
