"The Gift" (2000), starring Cate Blanchett. While Cate's character of Annie is revealed to have real abilities, the moments where she uses Zener cards to perform cold readings on her town's residents are worth watching from a mentalist perspective.

Charlie Chan on Treasure Island. The best of the Chan movies. There was another Chan film that had fake spiritualists too.

Romaro looked like a real magician
There was a Stewart Irwan comedy, but I can't find it.

Many thanks again, I've been able to see most of these, and the rest are on my list.

The Stu Irwin movie is "Heading for Heaven". Not great but watchable.

Just watched Hal Holbrook in Death by natural Causes, enjoyed it, certainly interesting. Not sure if the episode was already mentioned, I do recall a Columbo episode where he did a trick at the end which involved multiple outs around the room.

Three of my all-time favorite mentalism themed movies include...

1) Pro-Mystic Pizza: A coming of age drama of three young mentalists who get a summer job in a small Arizona magic factory. They laugh, love, and learn the importance of providing excellent customer service.

2) It's a Wonderful Wife: Starring Jimmy Stewart as a mentalist, filled with hopes of wanting to leave his small town to perform around the world, but realizes that what's truly important is having a wife who puts up with the contestant barrage of him asking "Can I show you another mentalism effect?"

3) The Movie of All Book Tests: An adaptation of the classic Mother of all Book Tests. This compelling crime thriller clocks in at over 2 and a half hours, but unfortunately, the plot repeats itself every 25 minutes. Not recommended for children due to the use of big words. Available only on videocassette.

And who can forget the 1950’s courtroom drama “12 Angry Annemann” as well as the horror classic “Friday the 13th Steps”?
