I refuse to choose. It’s like asking someone who their favourite child is!
But if I really, really had to choose then it would be any three Prof. B.C. Dopps books or near Dopps. They are so much more than just effects they are beautiful works of mischievous art that sit quietly waiting to ensnare an unsuspecting spec into a whole world of bizarre magic. But I would also slip two other things into my pocket: Steve Peebles Carnie B*x because it is a compact little arcane box of delights. Matt Cult’s Conan Doyle and the Bad Penny because it just works beautifully and is so ridiculously simple. |

Carnie b*x seems really great from what I’ve read. Missed out on that one.

Difficult, there are several I consider top tier, but the ones which really entrance and mesmerise an audience, delivering a feeling of real magic and awe, and which also fit my personal aesthetic would be:
The Devil Made Me Do It from Lebanon Circle Arabian Nights from Alchemy Moon The VVitch from MR Darkness |

'Favorite pieces' depends on the criteria, I guess.
In terms of having the most emotional impact on me personally, I wholeheartedly agree with David's choice for the Doppelgänger books and the Cuss Cards. My favorite Dopps are: 'The Hound of the Baskervilles', 'Jekyll & Hyde' and 'A Christmas Carol'. And I cherish my Cuss Cards Kings set, for which Christopher Gould built me a special box. You can find some pics in the crypt: https://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/view......art=60#9 Recently, I was able to acquire the Aes Goetia (by Prof BC). Wow wow wow... |

I forced myself to make this list. It was almost impossible to choose. In the end, I went for a combination of profound personal impact and actual stage/performance time.

Without doubt my favourite is 'Power of the Tarot'. It is very simple to present, no sleight of hand, no difficult moves, uses a very simple principle yet is utterly convincing. It was the first Bizarre Magic effect I ever performed, the first I ever sold and it is still my number one go-to effect over 30 years later!

The Black Heart's work were a "gateway drug" of Bizarre for me. His magick has always been excellent. "Devil in Mind" has been among my favorites for years.
Hey Keith, are you associated in any way with the guy who seems to be selling very similar effects to yours on Ebay? If not, you might want to look into it. |

Part of the issue is that there are no international copyrights to protect the artwork and many handlings are based upon classics which are out of copyright length of time, if ever protected in first place. Therefore, you can Find this going on. While we may view it as unethical, it appears to not be illegal, as long as you are not in the country in which the copyright is issued. The other issue is the legal cost to pursue damage versus the recompense does not make it worthwhile in most instances.
