In his book; "Callahan's Key," Spider Robinson has his hero, Jake Stonebender, pack up his closed bar, and move from Long Island to Key West to open a new bar. (At the urging of Nicola Tesla, who needs Jake to help save the universe!)
Once there, before working with the realtor, and getting settled, Spider has a chapter where he has Jake walk through Key West and meet with the buskers on Mallory Square. Anybody here busk Mallory Square? What's it like now?

Was just there, only one magician and he did a card to lemon for about 1/2 hour then had to leave. Funny and good crowd management, but brusque and a bit offensive.
Looks like definite timed slots, but I didn't converse with him re working the square. |

Not current, but have begun to listen to "Stories from the Pitch" podcasts and one with Gazzo talks about his time at Key West...he shares some stories and there's even a picture: https://www.buskerhalloffame.com/busker-......terview/
