Wow, the USPS and Fed Ex are at an all time low. I ordered a package from SEO Magic (they are located in California), shipped to me in Virginia. Used Priority Mail. It has been 3 weeks now and my package is still in Knoxville. A week after placing this order I decided to use Fed Ex and I paid extra for 2nd Day Air Shipping. It has been 2 weeks now and it is in Memphis. No refunds available as they changed their policy. Fed Ex says it is weather related...lol. USPS says it is Covid related.

I still haven't received a package from Kansas sent the first week of January. Good grief. Around my area there are people who are not getting their bills in time.....they end up being past due by the time they get them.

Hope this changes soon!

The Postmaster General is an avowed Trumpest who is bragging that he can't be fired.

And he's slowing down Fed Ex deliveries also, correct?

It's reasonable to assume that both Fed Ex and UPS are having a greater volume of business to handle as the USPS is being throttled.

I just got a book from TX to MO in about 12 days shipped via USPS media mail. No problem...and this was during the harsh weather
in that part of the country. Estimated arrival was dead on perfect!

Who Knows?

Yes, but it's one of the odd things about the US Post Office that the Postmaster General is not chosen directly by the President of the US, but by a majority of a 5 member commission, whose members are chosen by the President. The interesting thing is that members are chosen for a six year term. So presently, the deciding vote is a member who was chosen by the previous President in 2018--and whose term does not end until 2024, and thus the previous Postmaster General still holds his position.

Basically, then, responsibility, good or bad, is in that deciding member's vote. The current President will not have a chance to change the composition of the majority until 2022 when some of the other commission members' terms have expired.

I sent a postcard to someone in Michigan back in the middle of January.
I live in Georgia. It took over a month and a half to arrive.
As my buddy said, Pony Express would have been faster.

I remember postcards.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.
