For those who purchased the M box 2.0: now that the boxes have been out for a bit, how have the black lines/detailing on the boxes been holding up?

I'm looking into purchasing one myself, but I'm a bit concerned about the black paint(?) flaking off as part of the wear and tear.

they don't come off or even fade...the black lines isn't paint..

I did an extensive review of the new MBox 2.0 if anyone is interested.

Bottom-line, they are gorgeous, but there is a lot to talk about.

Very nice review.

I would have liked to learn more about the other boxes in the set. For example, reading the description on TCC Magic, I'm not clear about the difference between the M Box and Slot M Box.

GJo,

The difference is the Slot.

The MBox is the integration of a standard box with a boston box, but not the typical boston box engineering.

The Slot Mbox just has the added slot feature on the interior of the box.

Part of the confusion might be that anyone not familiar with the whole "family" of Okito Box variations might not pick up on the less thorough descriptions.

So, the take-away is the M Box 2.0 is the star here (being somewhat unique in it's construction), and the Slot M Box is a standard slot box that cosmetically matches the M Box 2.0. Is that accurate?

They are all stars. Every single one of them has the same feature that makes the M Box special.
The classic is an Okito with optional Boston.
The slot is a slot box, with optional Boston.
And the solid may be one of my favorites, because it's a solid box ... with optional Boston. Which means you could do a whole routine with a "full" box, and then show it to be solid and not have to switch out the box at the end.

The only one that's a letdown is the mini.

You also might find it useful to read through some of the older discussion and reviews in this thread where the various boxes are discussed - though not the slot 2.0, because that one was released for the first time with the TCC set.

My advice - if you are buying for the Boston feature, avoid at all costs.

I tried two shells and both immediately jammed in the groove. Not a worker.

I tried expanded HD shells from three different vendors and all worked flawlessly.

Interesting.

This is something that TCC were clearly aware of and should have accommodated for.

I've always found their products great, so this was a disappointment.

Quick update.

TCC customer service were helpful overall, and the issue seems to be that M Box 2.0 (dollar size) fits Morgan shells but NOT Eisenhower. You have been warned!

Very nice and detailed review, but the design of the box is possibly stolen:

What update?

Unless I'm missing something, the last post on magikoins' webpage about the coin box issue is from Sept. 28, 2022.

Well, the last thing Magikoins posted here was about the video from 2016 https://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/view......rt=20#18 on the 22nd, and it wasn't entirely clear if he was satisfied with the answer he had received, since it was merely a photo of the blackberry, not the whole video as in his blog.

I didn't have all the context on the separate pieces of work, or that he asked TCC/Jimmy for more information - which it sounds like he didn't get if there weren't any additional updates. That alone is additional information to me that I didn't have before.

To be clear for those who may not have read the entire thread, there is no update from @magikoins here or on his blog since Sept. 28, 2022 regarding the issue of similarities between his Okito box design and TCC's M-Box with side groove (and subsequent Boston-S and M-Box 2.0 designs involving a groove/slot for a [).

Summary:
On Sept. 20, 2022, @magikoins wrote:

Which suggests TCC's [ slot design dates to 2016, and @magikoins [ slot design dates to 2017, therefore there was no theft of his design. They were coincidentally similar designs (apparently) during roughly the same time period.

Perhaps @magikoins will offer an update, but his silence here and on his blog since Sept. 23, 2022 suggests he and TCC must have come to an agreement and ceased discussion of the issue.

If you have the M Box Luxury set from TCC and you have some of the Bluether magic mini Morgan dollar coins, you'll be pleased to learn they fit perfectly in the little box.

And many of the standard moves and turnover still work.
