I just bought and watch Ammar's Card Miracles (GREAT VIDEO!). In the cannible card routine, the problem I had is that the cards I were using, were slippery, So when I tried to do the fan, the card alway got exposed. I practiced for a while, and it didnt seem to work (2 hours). So My question is which book or video could I buy that shows a different flourish to conceal cards or how to get the method thought in the video to work.

Are you talking about the "Ascanio spread" used to vanish the pygmy cards? If so, it doesn't matter how slippery the cards are. If you're doing it right, nothing should be exposed at all. It all comes down to practice.

Kard16--
Most likely you are holding the cards too firmly. Try using a lighter touch. This is true of most card technique. We tend to use a death grip when we should be holding the cards like butterflies--easily killed if squeezed too tightly.

Speaking of the "cannibal cards" does anyone have any alternative patter lines for this nice little effect? Sometimes the whole "cannibal" theme just doesn't cut it for me.

how about demonstrating quantum physics with cards that implode unto themselves whilst contained between two partical deflectors, they then disapear into the unknown void of a miniture black hole? (how small can a black hole be?) |

theoretically... pretty darn small if you are talking about the actual sucked in "matter" part. Its the gravitational field that makes up the big visual part of a black hole. It does this by bending energy as it leaves and enters(yes stuff leaves black holes), go buy something by Hawking and read about virtual particles for more info (my hands are tired). |

One possible routine to "Cannibal cards" might be the time travellers who ran into the dinosaurs...chomp, chomp, chomp. But in the end, their high-tech laser nonsense saved 'em...
Yes, it's not great, but it may be better than cannibals!
