I’ve had it for a week or so. Typical Brent quality. Very well made. My fav use so far is for charming chinese challenge. Perfect and invisible way to store and steal the extra coin. Teaching is clear and detailed with several suggested uses. Ultimately, it’s a utility item. So your uses for it will vary depending on your needs.

Love the idea of using this for CCC.

I’ve seen that it can hold 4 Dollar Size Coins. Anyone know if that would include 4 Dollar Size Coins and a Shell, Guessing it shouldn’t matter. Also is this something I can use to steal/add a shell during a routine? Either way playing my order soon!

I would assume that a single shell nested on 4 dollar coins shouldn’t be a problem. However, it is unclear if it can hold 4 dollar coins and a shell separately. But since that would essentially be a total of 5 dollar coins then I would assume it cannot.

I haven’t tried it yet but I think it would be too snug. I think it could hold four half dollar coins and a separate shell though.

Finally, a truly organic coin accessory audiences can relate to as an "everyday item". All my friends carry a coin pouch in their pocket to keep their loose change organized, especially their antique silver and half dollars. I can't imagine any intelligent audience member coming even remotely close to assuming the coin pouch has any involvement in the miraculous coin magic they are witnessing!

It makes sense for a magician to have something to carry their coins in. Loose change would look a bit weird coming from a pouch sure, but it seems perfectly reasonable for a magicians antique silver coins to be carried in something.

As far as anyone suspecting the pouch, it depends how you use it. If you did a bunch of effects where the pouch is directly part of the magic, then maybe your spectators would become suspicious of the pouch. Otherwise I really don't think it would even cross the mind of a lay person that a coin pouch is gaffed.

Especially if you're just using it to add an extra coin/gaff (which would likely be one of the most common applications of this). You just empty the coins from the pouch, secretly retaining whatever you want to add in, and then add it to the rest of the coins. How is the pouch even the slightest bit suspicious in that case? Much more likely they would suspect the coins are gaffed than anything else.

Brent's a friend of mine and kindly sent me an early one of these, which I've had for awhile now.

The quality of the leather is great, and it's an excellent companion to his FPS card wallet.

I don't really do a lot of coin work, but I do use a Bob Swadling Walking Liberty Scotch & Soda. For the past couple years I've carried it in a Quiver purse, because it easily lets me carry the gimmick & normal coins in separate areas.

I'll be using the FPS to carry my S&S from now on. It's much smaller than the Quiver, and I prefer the look of it. The gaffed part of the wallet makes it super easy to either have my copper coin reappear in the FPS after dumping out the coins & performing the routine, or makes it easy to steal out the copper coin for easy loading into a different finale location if I so choose.

The Sharpie production is awesome and might even fool you once you know how everything works.

As usual, Brent has a lot of great thoughts & routines for using the wallet in a lot of creative ways. I never thought I'd want a miniature pool ball, but here we are...

This thing is simple, elegant, and low tech - but oh so devious. I want a few more of them!

So you can fit 4 silver dollars in the wallet and then an additional coin or shell in the backpack.
I hope this video helps clear up some questions.

I know it's been said before, but just to reinforce it: it is so great that Brent (and now a few others) are willing to be totally open on these kinds of gimmicks to potential buyers, so people know exactly what they're getting. It's this kind of openness that makes me happy to support Brent, rather than having to guess whether or not something will work for me.

That’s just an example of the fun you can have. No gimmick coins and no extra coins. Can also steal multiple/load multiple at a time

Totally agree! Thanks Brent! I've already ordered it but looks like it's even better than what I thought it would be!

Can anyone comment on how similar the gimmicked part of the coin purse is to Jeff Copeland's Traveller coin purse?

Also, size-wise, Alakazam put out their Confusing Coins sets in little leather purses that look identical to these - does anyone happen to know if Brent's purse is the same size or bigger?

Many thanks

The FPS Coin Wallet is 2-1/4”x 2-1/4” and roughly 1/2” thick when packed with 4 half dollars and one in the backpack.

As far as how similar it is to the Travellers pocket. It’s only similar in that it’s a leather pocket capable of holding a coin. The main difference is that the backpack allows you to sneak a coin out of the back of the wallet or to dump it out of the top of the wallet. I hope that makes sense. If not let me know and I can film another video explaining that a bit better.

Thanks,
Brent Braun

I just got my FPS wallet yesterday and will share my thoughts on it soon after I finish watching the rest of the instructions. But just wanted to address the question above. The functionality of the traveler's coin purse is a bit different than this. I own both and have used the traveler's coin purse for some time.

So there are a couple key differences. For one, there is only one entry/exit slot with the traveler's purse. While with FPS there are two. As seen on the FPS trailer, you can secretly steal a coin, or produce that coin from the main opening.

But the traveler's purse main purpose is just to hold out a coin and steal it when you want. You can ditch a coin fairly easy as well. The gimmicked pocket however is separated from the main compartment of the purse. So like Brent said, you can't for example make the coin that you have loaded, appear from the wallet when you dump it out the coins from the main compartment like you can with the FPS wallet.

You could say each one has it's advantages. You can do certain routines and moves thanks to the unique shape of the traveler's purse opening up into a box. Nice for a wild coin routine for example. Has no issues doing what it's meant to do, and I do like it. But like I said, the gimmicked part is mainly just for stealing an extra coin and ditching.

We know what the FPS wallet does so I won't point it out. But it is of course much more versatile in terms of utility.

Hope that helps!

Will try to write a short review on the FPS wallet tomorrow btw. But I will say in the short amount of time that I've played with it, I love it and will carry it with me any time I plan to do coin magic.

Very helpful, thank you Brent and Jamo. Given the quality of both the FPS wallet and download it came with, it sounds like a no brainier. I was playing with the idea of getting a Quiver for a CSB routine I’m working on, but I think I’ll get this instead.
