I like what he had to say about scripting. Even though my act looks like it is completely improvised it is in fact very tightly scripted. I find that really helps now that I am coming back to performance after a long time off. I've said those words so many thousands of times that it is coming back very easily.

Hi longhaired1, I also liked his thoughts on this topic. When I watch the part where he talks about scripting, I always picture John taking his morning walk with the script in his hands. Smile

I have never scripted my tricks because I always thought that I would then no longer be able to be spontaneous. What's your experience with it?

I find that having a tight script allows for spontaneity. Situations come up all the time that allow for a spontaneous response, then you get back on track.
