Yes, the 12 inch diamond cut silks, when held from the long corner, should drape down and look like you are holding an eighteen inch silk.
I been working on the handling, and found that if you stuff the silk in your fist gimmick with the end held in the right hand, it packs in the gimmick better. Just grab the right hand end (when held an inch above the long corner dangling.) |

I was in the fence to buy this comedy effect, but the lack of video instructions and people having to improve the handling to make it work better or the easy break plastic gimmick makes me hasitate. There should be at least a fb private group. It is not a cheap purchase for what it is.

He did offer to help me if I email him a photo of the broken part. He also sent me a link to a 9 minute instruction video, though that should have been part of the release.

I just watched the video that was referenced above. It has a simple handling. I would like to see the full routine and that explained in detail.
I have tried the pocket gimmick, and found that the silk needs to be in a tight ball, as the gimmick inner walls have that line design inside the shooter walls, which slows down the silk going very high when shoot. I found that it is best to compress the silk in a ball, and then wrap the last few inches of the silk end corners around the ball. This gives a smoother silk ball, and it started going a little higher, but nothing like in the promotion video. I am finding that Shooter is not "for sure" to work before a show, no matter what you do to load it, even if it has worked in practice. The elastic should very strong, to get the power needed for the silk to hit the heights in the demo video. I can only assume that when they decided to market the pocket device, they made it very different to the his actual working version he used for years. First, it should be made out of metal, with smooth sides inside so the silk has not drag when released. A magic prop is suppose to work the 1st time every time upon purchase, not spend hours trying to get what was shown on the demo video. On the new instructional video, he mentioned that a 12 inch regular silk can be used, what performer wants to use a 12 inch silk for an large audience. Maybe an in home birthday party, but that is about it. To ad to my over excited-ness I invested in over a hundred dollars in silks, custom made for this effect. The hand tool should be like a metal silk dye tube, not a Vernet TT. There is no reason to use a Vernet TT for this effect. It is never seen in the handling. I have to blame Murphy's magic more then the originator, because they did not bother to look over the product they intend to sell. So they are actually responsible for this "not ready for prime time" magic effect. Save your money, don't buy this effect, it is not worth all the headaches, to try and get it to work. I have to say this is a "bate and switch" product. |

I prefer to use the first gimmick connected with strong tape to a holdout while wearing a normal TT in the other hand.
After a few tries of making the silk desappear I switch TTs thanks to the holdout and proceed with a regular silk vanish. This way I don’t close my hand in the suspicious way the creator does and there is no need to search for a wand for ditching (optional) Then I can trigger the second gimmick and the effect seems more clean and effective. Yes, I also would like Quique to teach us how the heck he manages to make the silk jump as high as in the demo with such a plastic made gimmick. Anyway a metal one would be much louder. My 2 cents.

I hope a 2.0 version is released that is reengineered with the specs that Bill has previously mentioned. I would definitely purchase it. But right now I think the price is a little too high for what seems to be a lot of headaches purchasers are experiencing with this version.

This is one of the effects that is on my list. I don't know if it will be a clean effect. In the video it seems to be quite interesting, I don't know if in real life it will be that good
