"Seduction kisses the blind, the deepest."
I wasn't looking, in the moment,.. Actually, I was throwing salt over my shoulder,.. imaginarely, ....hoping for some rain(!). 😐 We've had a nice run. Sun. Dry. Not too warm. Not too 'full'. Free parking, in most townes, at the moment(!). 😄 Friendly shop owners. 🤔 Still,...day in, day out,... i was hoping for a break. ,....and wondering: "Who's in charge here, buddy?..!?" Rolling the Show 'home' yesterday, we passed a curb-side athenaeum*. (* Merriman-Webster's "Word-of-the-Day". 😋) ....a perfect excuse, for pausing the push. 😤 Little books, with broken spines, attract me, ...like free peppermints, in the barber-shop bowl. They've been read. Usually,...for reason. In-between Dan Brown, Joanne Rowling, L.J.Smith, Reader's (in-)Digest(-ion),.. all with solid clean spines 😋; one promising paper-back hid from the light. "Ahh,..a 'night-lover'." ...i fished it out. 'Briefe aus dem Felde'. Franz Marc. ('Letters from the War'. Franz Marc) It rained today(!). 😀 Reading the introduction, while still in bed,.. ...and having six 'piece-full' days, ....in our pockets, ...I meandered into 'the next' café. ,..that smelled of ground coffee. ....without even checking the menu prices. 😳 'Letters from the War'. Highly ^ recommended! 👆 ..for travelers, ponder-ers,..Street Performers! Nö 'war stratagies', or such crap,.. this is,...HONESTLY(!),..a Travel Journal(!..!), ....of sorts! Franz Marc. Yes,..'the' Franz Marc,..painter, voluntarily enlists, to support Kaiser Wilhelm the II, in the First World War. From August, of 1914, until December 23rd, 1915, he writes his wife, sister,..and friends, almost nightly. Traveling thru little townes and twurples, by foot, waggon, and horse; his thoughts and reflections about....(?),. Art(!) and 'the Artist's Life'(!..!), ....his desire to create and 'perform'(!), ...spill from his mind, to his hands, ...thru his pen, to his paper. His 'purpose',...as an Entertainer,..an 'Expresser'(!), motivate him to...'continue'.... and feed his determination, to...."come home and...DO IT!" He was killed,..in battle,..the 4th of March, 1916. 😞 (Wilhelm the II, continued enjoying caviar, in Holland, until 1941. 😡) The book is an heart-opener(!), as well as mind-mulch and spring-winder. He gives one the feeling: "Buddy, you,..WE(!), all have something to share. We OWE it! Nothing brings anyone closer to....'happiness'." A really nice read. Sitting two and one half hours, turning 200+ pages,. my first(!..!) coffee went cold(!), ...and my nougat croisant only suffered ONE bite! The book is that good. It can rain again tomorrow,.. OR BE SUNNY(!), ...i'm taking the day 'on'.. and re-reading it. Wishing all a warm breeze and a soft bed, gallagher |
