Say, has anyone here tried sun bleaching the back of a card as described in "Greater Magic"? I had a card sitting in the window, with 1/2 of it covered, for a week or so but not much seems to have changed. I'm wondering if maybe the chemical makeup of the inks has been changed to prevent this since the publication of that book (I know they've changed the cards to make them alcohol resistant - at least I think I know that...).

Get the card outside... the window is filtering the light and cutting the rays down.

See THAT'S why I come here so often. I'll give that a shot. Hopefully it doesn't start raining, I don't want to bleach them with acid...
Thanks Mr Biro.

Make friends with someone in AZ and send them the cards. Those things will be done in a day.

Ha! Good one. Maybe I should get even closer to the equator, all though the way things are going, maybe it's the Arctic or Antarctic regions I should be heading for...

Hi
Try using a UV lamp, I believe that is what causes the bleaching. Any DJ/Disco shop sells them. Paula

If I breath on a card will it make it into a "breather crimp?"

Scafidi combine what Paula and Pete said to get better results because Science tells us that every Beam of Light has three rays - The Actinic [which is invisible], the Luminiferous [which is visible] and the Calorific [which gives heat].
