Yes, Banachek has been working for a long time to get this Las Vegas show. Right before the pandemic his prospective deal with another major strip property fell through, which was so disappointing so this is exciting news.

It's the only reason I'd be going there... That and the Mac King again... I'm sure Banachek's show is incredible and fun. Trying to find the time off time...

Making believe two persons that they might stab you to death for entertainment purposes is not cool. It shows a lack of empathy towards the participants.

Well, ok. I see the point you are trying to make, but I thought it was indeed cool. I found it to be the most engaging part of the show. I didn’t see any of the volunteers opt out of participating or getting squeamish. Seems as if they were confident that Banachek wouldn’t make a bloody mess of it.

Yes, and it's a very topical routine, considering those college kids were stabbed to death in Idaho and the story is dominating the media. smh. Sick.

Agreed. When I went the audience didn’t have an overwhelming sense of dread or terror. In fact they were quite entertained. I surveyed my laymen coworkers after, and most said that was their favorite part. I would hardly accuse Banachek of a lack of empathy when absolutely none of the participants were distressed.

By the point in the show he does this routine, Banachek has proven himself over and over. No one doubted his safety. I would liken it to watching jugglers with swords they’ve proven sharp or flaming pins. You know there is an element of danger, but also that the performer is skilled enough to overcome it.

Having said that, I would hate watching a less skilled performer try it.

I was sad to hear Banachek's show at The Strat closed at the end of March. I never made it back to Vegas to see the show. Should have gone when I had the chance...

Oh no! Hopefully he has something else in the works. It was a fantastic show. Even knowing some of the routines he performed, you fully believe him while he's on stage. He overtly tells everyone that he's not psychic at all, but when it's happening, that feels like it's the only explanation.

From local news, it looks like they didn't give a reason. Here's hoping that all is well with Banachek, and here's to the 600+ successful performances the show had.

Lol, thanks for all the kind care. I promise I am fine. I decided to close the show after almost 3 years and over 630 performances. Vegas landscape for live shows is very different lately. Having a show in Vegas 6 days a week means that on the 7th day, you are visiting brokers and media appearances. It is a bit of a grind but one I am grateful for. I could have continued the show but I do miss traveling. In fact, I closed my show on March 30th, and two days later I was passing through the Panama Canal (working), then heading to SD for a show, then off to Anchorage, then to Japan and... Well you get the idea, and I was making more money doing less shows.

I am indeed honored by all those who supported me, from the Strat staff and management, SPI entertainment, and all those wonderful people who attended.

It was just time to start a new chapter in my life. I have always been one to change my path and experience life and new things. During my career I did the bar and bat mitzvahs for a while, then the shrines, optimist, supper clubs, and others, then corporate, then 6 five star restaurants in Houston, then I moved into comedy clubs, trade shows back to corporate, I then took a few years and produced major TV shows like 100 episodes of TV for Criss Angel and others. Just before COVID, I was starting cruise ships, then I decided it would be nice to stay in one place for a bit so took me 3 years to get a Vegas show, and then I performed it for 3 years. I am now back on Cruises, corporate, and working on a possible touring show in Canada for next year, possibly 40 locations, but we will see if this comes to fruition.

Right now I am doing some theater and college shows to fill in between cruises, so keep an I out. My website will be updated soon.

Again thank you all my friends for your kind words and caring about me. It really does mean a lot.

That's exactly the reaction I had the first time I saw Banachek perform, which was on video. I remember thinking, "I know this is not real, but...maybe this guy really is psychic." In my opinion, he is the most believable mind reader I have ever seen.

First of all Banachek is an incredible person, doing a wonderful show no matter where he is doing it.

It is a balancing act for sure with the lure of more money, vs the stability of your own bed at night. Banachek has done enough of both that he is making an informed decision. He is not assuming one is better than the other, he knows.

I seen this show while in Vegas last year and beyond the show being excellent (seeing PK touches live was mind blowing even when you know the secret), I must say that the hospitality and friendless from Banachek and his team were beyond anything I have seen from any major performer. His team upgraded our seats when they found out I was a mentalist and stayed much longer after the show after a normal meet and greet to simply sit and have a chat. Sad that this has ended as I would recommend the show to anyone at the drop of a hat but glad Banachek is off onto bigger and better things!

Just curious...how did they happen to find out that you were a mentalist?
