This is one of the most horrible cube product I've seen, I had V1 which was awful and it doesn't look like V2 has brought anything better!

The mechanism/ gaff seems to work ok but they really need to work on it looking authentic. Perhaps wait for 3.0

I'm not seeing the problem. Yes, perhaps the face looks a bit different than a standard Rubik's cube, but there are all kinds of regular cube knock-offs, so I don't think it' would attract attention outside the small community of magicians. As far as seeing a shell in the video, I watched three times and noticed nothing obvious, but perhaps if I watched a few more times I might notice a discrepancy, but the point is that this is probably best performed live (as most tricks are), and in which case a small discrepancy would surely fly by.

The problem being is that the shell is 2D and looks completely out of place.

But keep in mind that gimmicks that look bad on video usually look far worse when viewed live.
