N6 is the latest generation of N-Series coin magic props. It is totally different with the previous versions.
https://www.murphysmagic.com/Product.aspx?id=70348 There are many routines in N6. Such as The Thief, Exchange, Spellbound, Transfer and so on. 4 incredible routines included. N6 is made of high-quality Chinese coin. The whole set of props includes a N6 gimmick coin, a red common Chinese coin, a black common Chinese coin, plastic ring and string. |

The N series of coins has been kind of hit or miss IMO. Some I like but others I really don’t care for.
However the N6 I’ve been waiting quite a while to be released. If the coins are well made I think it will be a winner and something I will use. So I’m glad to see it’s finally been released. |

I'm very curious how this is different from, say, the Escapist Coin: https://www.mymagic.com/p/mymagic/escapist-coin-meir-yedid
It feels like the same thing, just with larger coins. |

Personally I never liked using what appear to be genuine coins with holes drilled in them. It just made no sense to me. Even a poker chip version I remember seeing didn’t appeal to me. But oddly enough, fake Chinese coins I like. Go figure. You can perform other effects than the string penetration with the N6 set too. I’m curious how they might work as part of a Charming Chinese Challenge routine. |

Oh, absolutely other variations, to that one.
I was merely making the point that there are other sets that seem similar, and I wasn't sure if there was something original here, or if perhaps they'd give proper credits. When you get a new release of hopping halves in a different coins, they usually still call it hopping halves, rather than giving it a brand new name. |

Surely this is a better Spellbound routine with Chinese coins?

However I wouldn't say the coin is very examinable... you can hand it out briefly but it can't be thoroughly examined imho (which is what people want to do once they've seen the routine - I usually do a switch in the end). Not sure how examinable N6 is (the Joker Magic version is sold as being examinable as well...). |

Yes I think examinability will be the key issue here (and also worth considering how silently and smoothly the main move can be done)...

I just received this. it is completely examinable after you perform the defect or routines.

Clarification: N6 is “completely” examinable after the effect is performed. Although, there is absolutely no reason to hand out coins after a performance. It depends on the entertainer’s performance style and confidence level.
By the way. The gaff coin (by joker) referenced in this vanishing inc link is different than N6. https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/close-......-change/ The Joker magic gaff is different gaff that “could” be used to perform one of the N6 effects. For the N6 mult-phase routines, NG2 provides extra coins to perform the routine. “if” joker provides extra coins, then something similar “could” be performed. Note: I owned the larger joker gaff and it did not come with extra coins. Cal

The main move for Spellbound is tough to do smoothly...and it's so loud!
Any tips on quieting it down? It's really well made and completely examinable but I'm struggling with the sound. |

If one continues to practice the moves, he/she will eventually work the gaff in. As the gaff gets worked in, the execution will get easier.
At that point, any small amount of noise should be easily covered by the performer's voice as he/she runs through his/her script. There are other helpful factors to consider like ambient noise, performing dirty moves during the off-beat, and misdirection.
