Borrowed spoon. No switches. Instant reset. Angle proof. It's just that as soon as I saw the trailer, I could see how it could be done - and it's $45.00. Is it me, or is this way too obvious? I realize that as a magician, I will not be easily fooled, but you want to be sure that it will fool your audience. What do you think? It's a pre-order on Penguin.

I think they should have shown a full performance video. But perhaps that would have made it even more obvious.

He says the method has never been done before, but it reminds me very much of Barry Price's Spoon Bend or Guy Bavli's Side Effect.

Extra bit of spoon isn't it?
It'll be more than that, obviously, but I'm guessing that's it at heart. I would hope that the extra stuff makes it easier to get in and out of and end clean etc. A full performance would have been helpful. |

His last several releases have been complete dogs. Hoping this gets him back on track but I’m not overly optimistic

Like Dancy said last week that the angles are good.

Seems a bit sneaky to give it a name that rides off the Quantum Benders coat tails. A far superior product than the spoon stem you seemingly get with this. |

Borrow any spoon as long as it matches the gimmick. Lol. And also you’d want the spoon in the bent position if giving out as a souvenir, no?

Hi all!
I'm Alex Latorre, the person that designed the mechanism and pieces that make this effect work. I'm going to try to answer any questions that you have as I truly believe that this is a new and interesting method for achieving a spoon bend. So if you have any questions, let me know. Alex Latorre |

So many factors with this, need same spoon width, different metals will give off different finishes (some metals shinier than others), bottom of spoon needing to be the same. This gimmick looks quite squared off. Just out of interested checked in my kitchen drawer and my spoons are all rounded. Another disappointing release by Peter. |

Agree with the concerns about a borrowed spoon matching the gimmick. But realistically, when are you ever realistically going to be able to borrow a spoon unless you are performing at someone’s home or a restaurant.

If you want to dive into spoon bending have a look at Osterlind and Banachek.
Why would you do something like this? A destroyed spoon (with finesse) is much more of a souvenir. Save your money. |

I have an annoying habit, at least according to my wife. I notoriously test spoons at cafés and restaurants to see how bendable they are.
Spectators don't care that a sideways bend is much more impossible. Get me a borrowed spoon and leave it in an altered state. Much more impressive than a gimmicked bent and unbent spoon, with no proof of it happening. |

It’s signed by the spectator, not that it matters

"and you immediately without switching bend it back...!" sorry, it remembers me ob the joke in a kids show: now the bunny has vanished, and now it's back! tada... yes, the method is obvious, even for laymen...
