Did anyone go this year ?
I have been going to this for years but this year it was held in a school in a remote location outside of London As it was so far away from central London I gave it a miss this year Hopefully it will be back to a more central location next year Anyway just wanted to ask did anyone attend anything new and what was the turnout like ? |

Turnout was ok. One of my group performed a LFT today as a requirement for a hospital appointment tomorrow and has tested positive for covid. He was maskless for most of the day and may have carried it in with him, he was there for a good few hours chatting with dealers and attendees, so I'd advise anyone else who was there to test themselves.

I didn’t go as it was the opposite side of London with no parking.

Well it wasn't in a remote location outside of London, its like zone 2 So relatively central. Not as central as Russell Square from previous years, of course.
I thought it was ok there. Was a bit disappointed that some dealers were already packing up at 3. This is fairly common, but its a shame, as previous years when I've attended I havent been able to come until 4, and then seeing that some dealers have already packed up and left. But whatever. I wish there could've been a sort of social area to sit down and session with people. |

I use to go to them, years ago and too be fair I think I would not be happy paying to get in when dealers are packing up at 3, the entrance fee has gone up quite a bit as well now,i use to get the fast train to ST Pancress then walk up, nearly thought of going, glad I did not as don't like tubes and traveling about to much up the smoke.

Im guessing the change of location is due to price. They moved from Royal National and did it down by Victoria more recently, but apparently that hotel has been turned into a Covid hotel (for quarantining). So for the Hampstead one, which is far from a ideal location (but still not THAT far away from central), they paid about £3850 less than the Victoria location (Also it's a mixed school, not a girls school )

I have attended the dealers day for many years but due to the location this year gave it a miss minimal parking showing as 8 to 12 minutes walk depending where you
could get with Charges of £7 /£12 for 2 hours Such a shame hope they go back to Royal National Hotel next year always a good turn out there |

Like I said, its far from an ideal location. Just pointing out it wasn't a remote location outside of London as you said in your first post I didn't like the location either, I much prefer Royal National, but Im guessing they are not there for a reason. And I said in my last post, Im guessing that has something to do with pricing. And they did have signs up urging people to use face masks, use hand sanitizers which were at the entrance, and observe social distancing, that and they had the doors open to let the air circulate. Not much else they could do.
Lets hope they go back to Royal National though... As for anything new, I didn't get much of a chance to walk around and look at stuff. Most new stuff is reserved for Blackpool I guess. I guess 1914 and Lewis Le Val were promoting his Iris which is kinda new. Some lovely leather chop cups, but I sadly forgot the name of the company, as I wanted to check them out online. Anyone remember? |

Masks? I thought magicians were intelligent. There are at least 40 studies that show masks are useless at preventing the spread of respiratory viruses.
If you are worried about covid, stay at home, lock yourself in your room and stop moaning about venues not complying with your "covid secure" fantasies. |

We had brand new items Back in Time Deck The new Willy Knot a Chance Plus other items I won't mention as these items are not on our website and are currently reserved for lectures and conventions so they will still be fresh for Blackpool.

Like I said, I didn't have much of a chance to look around. Shame I missed yours! The comment was more a general one, that Blackpool tend to be the place for new releases.

Well the way the UK Government is dithering again over the rising cases, don’t hold your breath about attending Blackpool. Feb is at the end of the UK winter……………

It was held quite close to where I live, but I didn't go because of COVID concerns. I'd have had to take a bus and a Tube train, and mask wearing on public transport is not being enforced - plus, of course, no enforcement inside the venue.
