I've reverted back to using an ungimmicked wallet these days however when I did use a gimmicked one I found that the Espionage Wallet was the all round best for my needs.

It can be a bit bulky when full though.

The stealth assassin for me as well, it comes with many routines to get you started and Alakazam did release another video with updates as a download. It really is one of the most versatile. I would also recommend Mark Strivings SUC wallet and his writings related to the SUC.

For peek wallets, here are the ones I recommend,

Alias wallet! As soon as they place the billet back in the wallet, they immediately hold on to it and you have already peeked. Very direct and very deceptive.

Blink! This wallet is great, because as soon as the billet is placed in, you can show both sides of the wallet to show everything is fair and normal. Then whenever you are ready you can peek. Very easy, relaxed, and deceptive.

But IMO, the peek to rule them all is Acidus Novis Smile

A good mentalist wallet is hard to determine because it depends what you are looking for. If you want a a good load wallet that could be A.F.C. Wallet and a good peek is Orphic for me.

Highly recommended! (Unless you are looking for one of those 'swiss army' style which allows peeks, CTW, thought of card already in wallet, OTL abilities, and multiple outs all in one wallet wallets)

After purchasing several of the popular and known wallets, the only ones I've kept are 1) the Shadow Wallet, 2 + 3) both Jaks style wallets from The Secret Tannery.

The Jaks style Secret Tannery wallets are close to perfect. The Shadow Wallet is the best minimalist wallet, but it has several design flaws.

Hi!

I'm wanting to get a good wallet designed for mentalists. Looking for recommendations.
(Ideally... multi-function, not just a peek wallet. And ablility to use as an everyday wallet would be great!)

Thanks in advance!

When you start looking for a 'mentalist' wallet, it is very easy to go down the wallet rabbit hole. There are so many wallets available, in so many different styles, that have many different features and functions. If you don't have a clear idea of what you want, trying to decide on one wallet can be overwhelming and confusing.

Here are a few questions to contemplate.

1. What specific features and functions do you want in a wallet?

2. What style of wallet do you want? Business card case? Slim, non-folding minimalist wallet? Bi-fold? Tri-fold? Money clip? Something else?

3. Are you looking for a prop you will use only for performance, and carry with you in addition to your regular wallet? Or are you looking for a wallet that will be used for performing and also be your EDC?

4. If you want an EDC, what will you carry in it? Paper or polymer notes? Bank cards? Packet tricks? Other items?

5. What else is important to you?

If you are able to answer all of these questions, and share your answers here (or privately with someone who has owned lots of magic wallets) it may be helpful in getting recommendations relevant to what you want.

If you are not able to answer all or most of these questions, because you aren't sure of what you really want, you may fin yourself buying wallets and trying them out to see how you like them (like most of us do anyway). But fair warning, that rabbit hole is deep.

Good luck on your wallet search!

Just don't start on this addiction in the first place. You'll end up like the rest of us...with 1,000 wallets, and all of them empty Smile

This might be the truest statement and fairest warming on the Café. My magic wallet arsenal rivals that of my wife’s shoe closet and purse collection.

As far as the OP: for EDC mentalism, it’s hard to beat the Stealth Assassin wallet as it is versatile while appearing normal and functioning mostly as a normal wallet. Although there is no long slot for bills (notes), they can still be carried along with credit cards, business cards, etc. It provides two different types of p**k, Striving’s SUC being one of them (which is not just a p**k, but allows for loading, switching, PW, etc. The wallet also provides a small in**x area and the OTL principle is built-in. It’s a workhorse in a small package.

Another noteworthy wallet for multi-function is the Hideout Wallet. It’s more of a traditional billfold style wallet with a long slot for carrying bank notes. It has a p**k function, a very decent sized in**x area for multiple o** routines, etc. It has a wonderful means of switching.

Ultimately it’s up to you as to what suits your needs based on the items you perform and your performance style. Best wishes, and remember, it’s definitely an addiction.

Now that I've owned several peek wallets I am of the opinion it may be best to simply modify a regular wallet. Certainly cheaper!

It is quite easy to make your own Jaks style peek wallet, for example, from almost any regular trifold wallet.

You are correct. That would have been selfish, and now that I think about it...I need more! Smile

Having relapsed multiple times, I'm not sure there is a reliable cure for wallet addiction. The really high quality ones in particular are so hard to resist...like Tony Miller's wallets that not only function so well but smell so good too.

What problem...I don't have a wallet problem.
