One lesson I hope that’s learnt by this thread, as it’s something that’s happened to myself before. If you think someone has released something unoriginal, contact them privately and offer that courtesy. Posting on a thread that could be potentially read by hundreds of people can be very damaging.

Well said.
I have the greatest respect for most people on here and everyone has a opinion, sometimes the written word can be read and interpreted incorrectly. Let’s look forward to using the wallet and sharing great ideas! Regards.

Hello Lewis,
Your wallet seems a very good one, congratulations. I just wanted to know the dimension of the c2w loading part, I would like to use a French ID document as a slide (better than a credit card imo) but I am not sure it can fit in the compartment. The ID document size is : 105 × 74 mm Thanx in advance for your answer, Kind regards, PoumKa |

I ordered my wallet on the 1914 website and to be clear I haven’t received the physical wallet yet but I just finished watching the online video instructions. This wallet is so good. I’m so glad I bought it. The video instructions covers everything and there is even a PDF with additional ideas. I think the peek on this wallet is very good because it’s so psychologically deceptive. I really enjoyed Craig Patty’s bonus section for magicians. I’m so glad I chose the Orphic +. I strongly agree if you’re planning to use the wallet for card to wallet you should get the plus version. Orphic will definitely be my new EDC.
So much space to hold your credit cards, cash and extra packet tricks.

That’s good to know Mike. Let’s just hope that yours, and others are in a far better state than the first one sent out early. Not a good start really.

I started to watch the instruction videos last night, as all 1914 products the content are comprehensive and very informative.
Really looking forward to receiving the wallet and putting it to good use!

It looks great but I don’t think it has a major cash compartment so it doesn’t appear to have loads of space to hold cash.
Not that Lewis was ever trying to do that as that’s when the slimline becomes bulk and most people don’t want that anymore, particularly if it’s bulky and they don’t have a lot of notes in them to back it up. To be clear this isn’t bulky and looks lovely from what I have seen so far Gaz.😊 |

It will hold cash better than the Hermes wallet in my opinion and you won't have to lose a function of the wallet to do so and all without a money clip which is a bonus for me...mind you I only keep £20 on me in cash as I mostly use my card these days.

What I like about the Hermes peek is you can do exactly what this one does except showing your credit card instead of the cash and coins that are pushed unnaturally to me at least in my mind in that compartment on the Orphic. Then because it’s a hip wallet (Hermes) when you open in longitudinal you seem a lot further away from the peek when retrieving your business card, as in this they can still see the business card sticking out of the opposite end and it has also been placed in between 2 other cards.
Of course the last part can be added to this wallet too but I would favour putting the ID card or a credit card in that added pouch rather than a mess of cash in an unnatural way. I will still be getting one of these and still trying to find out whether a playing card actually fits in the width of the smaller version? I don’t care if it’s hard to load via a palm but does it physically slide in and out? Best wishes Gaz.😊 |

All fair points as always Gaz, I actually like the Nexus wallet but as its not made of leather I just couldn't waste my money knowing its not going to be durable which I've heard from quite a few people.
The Orphic wallet however ticks a lot of boxes for me and its very reasonably priced. |

I’m trying so hard to hold off buying Orphic to see if it becomes available in any other colours. I may just crack and order it though!

I agree Warren the Orphic is very reasonably priced and it does tick a lot of boxes.
I also love the peek and also the deceptive switch that is obtained with the very clever design Gaz.😊 |

I just watched the tutorials, and they are fantastic. Barring some unforeseen defect, (haven’t received it yet) I can tell already, this is my new favorite hands down. Lewis, and Craig, absolutely killed it. Btw, I retract my anger ridden trash talk on Craig. His input was of the highest caliber. Even the material I won’t personally use was useful. Lewis’ insights and approach are pure gold. The design of the wallet itself is a thing of beauty. Haven’t even received it yet, and I’m glowingly happy. One more time publicly; I was out of line with Craig, and was in the wrong. He inspired me actually with how he’s manned up to a mistake he made in the past, and that’s not always easy to do. But back on topic. This seems to be an amazing utility. More to come when I have it in hand. Hope the New Years already being good to everyone.

I know it was mentioned already but are there any plans for an Orphic wallet fb group?

Can anyone categorically confirm whether you can or can’t push a playing card in the front pocket of the standard size Orphic and then retrieve it from the inside?
Thanks for any confirmation Gaz.😊 |

Hola,
I just saw your question Gaz; I think Lewis is out and about at the moment or he’d have replied, but we’d definitely recommend the plus if you’re wanting to use playing cards. The normal Orphic was designed for business cards, for Le Val’s close up act, so while it can carry packet tricks and switch playing cards (lewis carries some Eclipse cards in his when he’s working, which fit beautifully), the load will be a bit too tight to load cards effectively - hence use putting the plus out alongside the original. It’s only a slight difference in size, but it makes all the difference with ease of load. If the standard size could load cards effectively, we wouldn’t have had to develop it’s bigger brother. As the leather stretches and softens over time when the wallet is filled and in your pocket, playing cards will be able to go in the load/peek, but if you’re anything like me, you’ll want to start jamming with it right away; the business card sized Orphic won’t allow you to do that with playing cards. So in short; yeah, you could just about *squeeze* a card in, it will get easier over time as the wallet matures, but I’d recommend going for the plus if card magic is a big part of your act as that’s what it was built for. Hope that helps! Ps. We’ve begun shipping all our Orphic orders now @ the1914 and the tutorials are all up and ready to watch (alongside the bonus PDF, which has some beautiful additional thoughts in), for those that haven’t seen them yet!

Thanks Dee that’s the perfect answer, I am not after doing a card to wallet with it.
I want it for more Mentalism routines but on the odd occasion I may want to slip a playing card in there for the switch aspect so I think the normal size sounds fine. There must be a reason also that Lewis sticks with the standard size so hand size etc for coverage when doing the switch is an important part for me. I also don’t like business cards having too much space when inserted so they may look more lost in the larger version. Anyway I appreciate your quick response and if I now order and get it wrong I will just buy the plus as well. Thanks again Gaz .😊 |
