For me, the smaller one is a better fit, but I also won’t really be using a deck of cards with it. I’m a bit concerned with the quality of the stitching, but the features are really wonderful. The switch aspect really makes this so versatile. Again, more thoughts to come but great design and release 1914

The stitching is only through one layer in the critical areas, which is a very good thing as it allows you to load a playing card if you want very easily as I can see how it’s constructed.
I love it for those reasons Gaz.😊 |

Yes the smaller one is a better fit, I totally agree with that Gaz.😊

I have both sizes. I just received my smaller regular Orphic and what surprised me is the card in the dummy side does not need to be trimmed. It actually fits the American sized cards just fine. I don’t know if the stitching of different on them but I’m actually happy my smaller Orphic fits my cards much better than plus size and since I’m not planning to do card in wallet the smaller Orphic will be my EDC

Thanks funnyclown for your honest thoughts on pretty much what I have been saying all along.
I am pleased someone who actually owns both like you and is well respected on these boards says it how you find it. Massive kudos from me my friend Gaz. 👍👍😊 |

Thanks Gaz.
You can still do a billet or business card or ID or credit card to wallet the smaller Orphic. Just not poker sized card to wallet. So the smaller Orphic is ideal for the mentalist.

Just wanted to quickly say that I had a small issue with my order which I received today, I sent an email to the team at the1914 and they solved it immediately. Same day. On a Saturday. I definitely wasn’t expecting an answer before Monday for one but mostly they’ve been super helpful and efficient. And no they haven’t asked me to write anything on here, I feel that it’s also important to mention it when the customer service is outstanding, I was really impressed. But it looks like this thread is full of happy customers anyway thanks so much again Dee !!

The 1914 is one of the very best magic/mentalism companies in the world--high quality products, incredible tutorials, stellar customer service, etc. I will be a loyal customer for many years to come. Totally fine if you don't wish to share, but I'm curious to know what the small issue was. Still waiting for my Orphic to arrive. The wait is agonizing! |

Orphic+ makes me wish the 1914 were responsible for all new magic releases. Watching the tutorials of some creators/magic dealers is a painful experience that makes you long for a return to the written word. Not so with Lewis and Dee. They care about every detail and about making you a better mentalist. It's the subtleties that make a difference. Small thing: Lewis' encouragement, for example, made me look again and work on perfecting my one-handed top palm (I use the Morphew version now - as far as I can tell it's the best around). Rather than just learning new tricks, each tutorial makes me a more rounded performer. It's quite the overall package.

I agree with the above post, you also get a PDF as an added bonus which is a great bullet point reference piece imho Gaz.😊

I received my Orphic+ today and I think I got a dud. So, here is a question for anyone that has one:
The load pocket - Mine is stitched or glued up on one side of it (in the inside). Its a struggle to get a playing card in. Width wise its a very tight fit. If I am looking at it - the left side (toward the spine) is not open all the way to the spine. All the other pockets on both sides of the wallet are open to the spine. But, the pocket I need, I lose about a quarter to half an inch in width. Anyone else? |

Got my Orphic+ yesterday and love it! Also love the instructional video!
Want to share this idea, one that helps to subtly convey the impossibility of the peek. Pull out two blank cards. On one, write something down and slide it into the MIDDLE slot on the outside of the wallet. Tell the participant you want them to read your mind…what did you write? The participant will have no clue, so you open the wallet and show the inside ID compartment. In it you have a small card with the five ESP symbols. You explain that you thought of one of these five symbols which one is it? You close the wallet. Whatever the participant guesses, pull out the card and show they’re either right or wrong it doesn’t matter. But what you have indirectly shown is that when you open the wall, there’s nothing to see. Then when they write their thought on the next card, you slide it into the TOP slot and you’re all set to go. Hope that makes sense, again love this wallet! |

That’s the same on them all, It’s necessary for the peek function on that side for that pocket.
Lewis mentions this either on this thread or on the tutorial, so it’s not a dud and is the same with the standard and the plus. I can get a playing card in the standard so you should easily be able to miss that portion on the plus with some perseverance and wearing it in ie forcing quite a few cards in there Gaz.😊 ps yes it’s glue on that section so the stitching doesn’t go right through which is a good thing imo |

You could of course have say a £5 note in there and say if you manage to read my mind you can have the contents of my wallet and in that process it gives you the justification to open and show the £5 note. It’s a clever idea of yours and one that’s only limited by your imagine Gaz 👍👍😊 |

Thanks, and yes, any reason to motivate opening the wallet works!

The only thing I will say is there are many ways in previous wallets of doing exactly the same thing but the card you do that ruse first with goes in say the top pocket.
After opening and showing the £5 note or whatever, you can then place your prediction after in the same top pocket and it becomes it view. Arguably that’s better as you can’t miss and it’s the same pocket, however this wallet offers so much more then just the peek and also combines the switch with the peek etc and makes it stand out for those reasons more imho Gaz.😊 |

Sounds like you may have not and that could be the only issue my friend.
You should have 5mm play either side of a standard poker size card with the plus unless you are not pushing the card in nice and straight Gaz.😊 |

An Alt version is to place that first card in the top slot of the “other” side. Open up the wallet to show the note or symbols…etc but when you put the participants card in, you put in the hot side.
