My Orphic Plus just arrived! The wallet is even more beautiful than I imagined. The leather is stiff, and the wallet won't stay closed. But as Lewis suggested, and others have already shared, this will change as the wallet gets broken in. For now, I've placed it under a stack of books.
There is absolutely no doubt that this will be my new EDC. It easily holds all of my items (mentioned in a previous post), and it's not terribly bulky. Anyway, I am 100% satisfied with Orphic (and I almost never feel this way about a mentalism/magic product). The peek and the switch are so brilliant. I'll report back on the workings once I've had a chance to road test the wallet. Congratulations, Lewis, Dee, and the 1914, on yet another fantastic release. And thank you for your ongoing commitment to excellence in the mystery arts! |

I have no problem fitting my edc stuff in the standard Orphic. I filled it up and have been using hair ties for a few days. It’s already close to laying flat as the leather stretches. And that initial smell (which was a non issue for me personally) has already completely gone. This is probably the fifth time I’m saying this, but I couldn’t be happier. I, still, also think the Shadow is a winner as well.
So many wallets. So few monies This has absolutely satiated my need for wallets. I’ll never look at another again. My quest is complete...... Any bet takers in the house? But by all rights it should be. I’m in deep deep love with The1914 fellas at the moment. Great job.

A question for those that own the plus size as their EDC is it possible to keep 4 credit type cards, a packet trick containing 4 cards, a couple of bank notes and say a minimum 6 business cards inside ?

Mine is set up for an EDC and it looks like this....In the "back part" of the ID window I have my insurance card and a Rainbow card gimmick in front of that - in the front is my drivers license/CTW slide. The other 2 inside pockets: Back one has 2 credit card type cards and about 5-6 folded US bills. Front one, 6 business cards. On the outside, I have 2 bank cards ( 1 debit, 1 credit), they look identical and are in the lower pockets on each side of the outside. I'm leaving the other outside pockets empty so that its easier for me to do switching - but they are available if you rather use them for something else. In your case: use them for more credit cards or folded cash and put the packet trick in an inside pocket. It all depends on what is most important for you. For me its: palmed card to wallet, switching and peek in that order of importance...If I gave up switching, I'd get more room - but no chance of that happening Mine lays flat and is not bulky in my pocket, I'm sure I could get a couple more business cards and a little more cash in there as well. (the wallet is tight and may have trouble with all that at first, I wound up stuffing the pockets with playing cards for a day to loosen it all up) |

I’m also very happy with my Orphic! Stopped looking at reviews of other wallets here. This wallet is saving my wallet…

BTW, Lewis is such a great teacher on the tutorials. He has an easy, relaxed way about him and provides a lot of useful tips about using the wallet and his approach to performing. Really good bonus quality observations.

One idea I'm experimenting with, building on the psychological deceptiveness of the wallet: a small strip of business card stuck across the top of the special slot, giving the appearance that there's a card already in there. With that on display and a quick flash of the inside, a peek would seem even more psychologically impossible. Not necessary, obviously, but worth playing around with.

But rather than glue a strip of card, I prefer to cut a piece of clear plastic about the size of a biz card. I use a piece cut from the holders meant to hold things like baseball cards. A strip of a biz card and/or an expired credit card is then glued or taped to the clear plastic and placed in the pocket of the wallet. This seems to stay in place better and is easier to change when if it gets worn. It’s nice to keep a regular biz card in the same pocket and remove that for them to write on and it appears that is the pocket you use to hold your cards, which also helps give it an a further air of innocence. It’s easy to add this extra layer of deception so I always do it, but yes, as you say it is not not absolutely necessary at all. |

Personally, I prefer to avoid the Jack of all trades approach and dedicate a wallet to a single function and present it in what I feel is the best possible way. But I understand that for workers pocket space is always at a premium. |

Late to the party on this one but liking my orphic+ thus far. Like everyone, i’ve got at least 20 wallets I’ve purchased over the past 35 yrs. Never really used any of them consistently other than the harry robson workers dream which I use for all my professional shows. I finally forced myself to work out a solid EDC set I can carry in a more casual wallet. Thus far, the palm load seems tight but I’m guessing that will loosen with time. My only wish is that the orphic had the shadow wallet index system built in because I love the thought of card to wallet feature. That would have made this the ultimate wallet IMO.

Once I started loading it with other effects (nothing bulky or thick) the palm load got tighter. But I’m used to loading the super easy Speedloader and the Robson wallet. Both are so easy and smooth to load. Will just take some time and stretching to get used to loading traditional loader wallets again. That said, given my practice with it thus far, I see the palm load as a feature I will hardly ever use. I’ve got plenty of other places to load cards.
