Right in their hands - all the cards become wood. Apart from one...
____________________________________________________ BACK IN TIME DECK By Mark Traversoni ____________________________________________________ Imagine performing true magic and travelling back in time... back to a time when bicycle cards were merely fragments from a tree. This is Mark Traversoni's brilliant take on the classic Omni / Phantom deck in which the cards become wood right in the spectator's hands - not a block of wood - but individual wooden cards which can be handled freely. With just one regular card on top, the Back In Time Deck is extremely fooling and gives you the freedom to really put their card in the middle of the deck - performing a really fair ambitious card before the magical transformation takes place. These wooden cards (15 make up a full deck thickness) really are a thing of natural beauty and need to be seen to be fully appreciated... you will not be able to put them down. You'll receive Mark's expert handling (and super easy) version of the ambitions card with a couple of gimmicked cards included. NOTE: Due to the cards being made from real wood the appearance and finish may vary slightly from what you see in the photo. ---- Are you ready to go back in time? TRAILER:

Very nice and promising idea. Sounds very good.
Like the idea of using it with 'Holy Wood'.

Although at first glance the connection seems obvious, I’m not really seeing it. So how are people thinking of using it with Holy Wood?

I use this mainly like Omni deck but it is open to various presentations.
If you were to use just one of the cards it can hide in a normal deck and then one card only could change to wood. If the rest of the deck goes back in the box the wood card could then be passed through and the whole deck changes to a block of wood. There would be a color difference but I'm sure that would fly. I see this will be more of a utility item that people will use in all manner of ways.

I suspect one of the wooden cards is a little too thick for the slit in the box (and means the Holy Wood gimmick needs to be opened quite wide).
But I'm sure there's a way to integrate both tools into an effect, and your deck Mark looks fab. |

Maybe I'm dense but I'm still not seeing how a wooden card(s) is used in conjunction with Holy Wood? Unless you are maybe planning to do the Back in Time Deck effect first and then follow with Holy Wood?
What's the point of using a wooden card to penetrate the wooden block? First you change a card into wood, and then the whole deck? I suppose that's possible but I don't see how it adds much to Holy Wood without over complicating everything, and frankly if I were to do that I think I would rather just turn the card into a thin plain piece of wood without a card printed on it to better match the block. Seems like people are having this knee jerk reaction that because each of these items are made of wood then they will be perfect together without really thinking it through. Of course having said that, I'm sure someone will come up with some really clever combination and if so I would love to hear it because I'm sure its in there somewhere. |

Well, that will be entirely down to the performer's premise, scripting and presentation. As you say, someone will come up with a clever way to combine the effects. It's practically begging for these to be linked. |

I use these as you would an Omni Deck but you can also single or multiple cards.
I don’t have Holy Wood but I can see how they could be linked.

I absolutely love this.
It is super fun, works great and has some other applications too. I love the addition that a signed card can be placed into it. I love the Omni deck but this does add that extra step. Great addition to my working set!
