I have some Alan Wong "Sponge Eggs" that have turned yellow-ish. (see image which shows approximately what has happened to these eggs over the span of about 7 years. I've kept the eggs in a sealed bag stored in a cool dark place when not using them , but this is what has happened over time.) Other than going yellow they are in good shape. (Yes, I could just buy some new ones ... maybe that's the answer , but I thought I'd ask here to find out if anyone knows how to whiten/brighten yellowed white sponge).
Does anyone know a way to renew yellowed white sponge to make it look white again ? I have not found a way to contact Alan Wong to ask him about it (I wonder : is Alan Wong a real person or a brand name ? I just realized I don't actually know ... I asked the dealer who I purchased these from. The dealer said: "I don't know if there's any way to turn them white again. You should contact Alan Wong to ask him." I said: "How do I contact him" The dealer said: "Sorry, I don't know" .) Click here to view attached image. |

You could try Oxiclean. It comes in a variety of different products. They have one called "White Revive" that is formulated to whiten better than chlorine without the smell.

You can try retrobriting.
You need concentrated peroxide, like developer for hair dyes. Use the liquid kind, add in some water, expose to UV light, or just put outside in the sun. Randi |
