Hi all. I am looking to remove some "large' items from a small box. I was able to locate a collapsible banana, carrot, orange, eggs, a coke bottle, and a baguette. Does anyone know of other collapsible items I can produce from the box? Would love to remove a sandwich, but nothing came up on a search. Any ideas and where to find them would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Michael
You might want to check the Pet Department in retail stores; there you will find several "exaggerated" items (hamburger etc.) that are made of dog/cat tough rubbery material. These are not nearly as collapsible as sponge, but they are squishable AND equally as important, they are FUNNY. Happy Hunting! Julie |

Thanks Julie, good idea! I am using the box for a coin trick, but before I get to the trick I want to pull out a bunch of funny stuff. As long as it squishes enough to fit well, I can use it.

Sponge balls. Come in different colors and sizes. Super soft are the best.

Hi Dan! I thoughr about sponge balls, but by their nature they look collapsible. My goal is to produce items that don't look collapsible (but are). I didn't want to use silks or ribbons either, as most of the people who will watch this trick would understand that those could be stored in the box.

I seem to remember an old card effect in which the selected card was found in a sandwich. The bread was made of sponge.

Hi Alan! Would you happen to know where that was sold?

Another option is to extract a collapsible 2 dimensional object and do a Utility Switch to place a solid object on the table.
The fake object can even be reversed to have another image on the reverse side to be palmed and used a second time as the other hand steals a new object. I used this method once to seemed to extract an entire lunch from a baseball cap: sandwich, apple, pickle, slice of pie and soda, all of which I consumed.

Depending on the size of the box, you can produce a Nielsen bottle or two https://nnmagic.com/store/nielsen-vanishing-bottles/ Perhaps a Neilson dove:https://nnmagic.com/store/magic-tricks/latex-dove/ A couple of appearing candles and maybe a cane. Of course there is always the ubiquitous appearing 8-foot pole: https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/amazin......cturing/

Also, have a look at these sites: https://www.decorcentral.com/ham-and-che......usa.html https://displayfakefoods.com/ Be sure to inquire first about any items you plan to purchase , whether they are made of soft foam material or harder resin material. It varies. . |

I found some nice sponge items from Alexander May on Penguin, including a really nice chocolate frosted donut that looks real in the photo. The hot dog and burger look great as well. Not sure how far away the audience needs to be to have it pass muster. Anyone have experience with these products? I found a really nice baseball bat and apple made out of latex from someone in Spain, but no prices and you need to inquire about the price of each item. That was magiclatex.com. Anyone use them?

Don't overlook nesting items, or hollow items that may contain additional items. The idea above of the rubber dog toy hamburger is one such that can have the bottom cut out and serve as a vessel to hold other things. The old EZ Magic Hat Loaders would have several production items inside a glass that was painted to appear to be full of milk. The glass was the last item to be produced.

"EZ Magic Hat Loader" - Red Tube -Milk painted glass, a load - Ooooooooooooooh MEMORIES. I got mine in 1954 - at 'Hollywood Magic', in Hollywood, Calif. The sales person (a huge scary - but very nice person) allowed me to trade a Model Airplane I won in a Talent Show with my Vent. For the 'EZ', a Die Box and an Imp Bottle. I still have them. I actually bought a string of 4 latex sausages from Magic Latex (sold by a dealer in the States) that look...OK. Color is a bit off. The Goshman string of sausages looks to me in the photos like sponges, not real. Magic Latex also manufactures a latex apple that looks great in their photos, but the company (based in Spain) did not get back to me when I asked them to give me a price w shipping, and I only found 2 dealers here in the States selling it together with a box of apple juice that increases the cost of the apple.

Finally got all the props! Some work, and some (like the latex sausages) don't look real enough for me to use. But of the ones I got, most work great. Thanks to all for your suggestions. I will post a video soon!
