Yes Videoman! Video-only instructions drive me nuts, especially on effects that require different phases and set-ups. I really appreciated Andy Nyman taking the time to provide a short summary PDF for The Moment recently - and that was an extremely straightforward effect. Wish that was the rule not the exception (particularly on products over a certain price point). Not all of us love wading through hours of video and making endless timestamp notes.

I agree with the advantage of a sheet of written instructions. In it's absence something I have found useful is to take a screen shot with my computer or cell phone of a frame that has the set up. It's better than nothing.

For the price, they really should include replacement gimmicks. What's the real point of including the non-gimmicks? Most of us own a red-backed deck of Rider Backs.

I performed John's table version 2 days ago in a hotel lobby in Michigan for the first time. There was probably around 30+ people circled around me with others actually standing on chairs to watch. I bet there had to be over 50 people that saw this, the table was one of those lower tables about knee high when sitting. I made an announcement that, "this will be the last effect that I will perform tonight and you'll understand why when it's over". After the first Ace disappeared there were audible gasps, after he 2nd Ace disappeared I heard people saying, "where did the Aces go?".
At the end before revealing the Aces that traveled I said, "there's only one place the Aces travel to...I mentioned to you all in the beginning that The Ace of Spades is the leader Ace, well.....(I started flipping over the Aces and the crowd literally starting roaring and clapping). After flipping over the last Ace I shouted, "And that is why this will be my last effect, what can follow?". I have to say, this routine brought the house down. This is truly a wonderful routine that I will use. People cared less that the cards where not removed from a deck. The impact was still massive because of all the great subtleties showing the cards front and back. What was neat, I made mention of my new "VEGAN" wallet that I kept the most prominent cards in for the effect and said, "I even keep the most important cards of the deck in this VEGAN wallet, yes, for all you meat haters out there, no need to hate now!" That got a great fun reaction from the audience. RNK

Welcome Bozzy... Now, I do believe part (though a small part) of the huge reaction I got was do to my energy of building it up at the end and when delivering the last lines using a crescendo in my voice. As always, for me, I have found that when I perform and present with higher energy my reactions are always so much better.
I really am looking forward to trying the VINO presentations using the wine glasses. I just think this routine has a lot going for it. It's just such an elegant routine that through your presentation can really build up to a high impact-smack in your face ending. After performing the routine many people in that lobby said to me, "I see why you said that would be your last effect you would perform, that was amazing!". RNK

I picked this up yesterday, unsure of what it would add to this plot but I wanted to support John and David, and it's one of my favorite routines so I figured, why not?
I have to say I'm beyond happy with it. Though I've worked on various presentations with MacDonald's Aces for more than a decade, the additional handlings included have me really excited about incorporating this into my set on a regular basis. I spent a couple of hours last night working through the different handlings to find three that look good and build nicely for me. Lots of fun stuff here, and the court cards make for a much cleaner picture on the table in my opinion. The bonus of having David explain the history of the trick and who MacDonald was made this an entertaining and information purchase, and the wallet is excellent. I'll be going into this from a deck that's in play, but I know I'll find a purpose for the wallet as well. Highly recommended!

As far as "I bought it from an online shop", I doubt "refills" will yet be marketed (too many people know a McD Ace routine and would just buy the cheap refill gaffs).

I absolutely love the Vino Aces from @John Gastaferro , it's the best version of the McDonald Aces for me.
With some nice words about my adaptation for the LGBT day, here is my version: https://youtu.be/zl3jGJcR7_E I hope you like it. ZATANNA
