Does anyone perform Doug Malloy’s light and heavy box ? What is your routine? How does a play from one to 10?

It is not listed on his website.
This box effect hit the market many years ago, and most bought them and returned them, because they require certain conditions for the performing area. Once they seen the gimmick they were of no interest. Also the effect is hard to convey to an audience. Aa the only person that can't believe he can not lift the box, is the person attempting the feat to lift the box. Bystanders, do not get the feeling of "NONE BELIEF". This was discussed on the Café when all the different boxes became available on the market. The box is not examinable. In my opinion this is a "one on One" effect, not something for stage or a large crowd. The concept where the effect is interesting. Search the Café and you will find a number of discussions on this effect. |

Back in '08 there was a short thread on the Malloy Light-Heavy Chest. I outlined the routine I had developed and using for about a year on that thread. I also addressed some of the downsides (and how to overcome them) of the prop.
