I wanted to like this, but I don't know if I got a bum deck or what, but I just can't seem to get the deal right at all without the count showing dirty. Guess I could always prep my own deck, but disappointed in the deck out of the box.

It’s so easy and if you have dropped it and can’t put it back together it just shows how examinable it is imho Gaz 😊

I agree with the agreement. I think this has been dealt with clearly and honestly, and if anyone is still feeling misled or confused at this point it's not due to lack of diligence from Craig.
Never criticize someone else until you have walked a mile in their shoes. Then, when you do criticize them, you will be a mile away from them and you will have their shoes.

Just reporting back. Done the trick a few times now. Deck is absolutely completely examinable by everyone I perform magic for. As for being examined by a magician. I truly don’t care but who knows? Not me because I don’t perform magic for magicians. I share magic with them.

Yes, for a magician some may find something but many will not. But when it comes to laymen I’m not even sure what you think they would find. They don’t have the knowledge base to even know if they found anything. Lloyd Barnes' wife must have a lot more knowledge of magic than the average spectator and you could tell she genuinely did not see anything. Same for many of the lay people in Craig’s live performances. So are you saying these people were just acting, or lying, being polite, or what? I think you’re idea of examining must be sending it out to a lab for a complete analysis and inspection under a microscope. Maybe 1 or 2 out of a hundred may think that they caught on to something but even then wouldn’t know where to go from there. So it certainly doesn’t deserve an “absolutely not”. It’s no longer just opinion, enough people have now used this in the real world to factually prove that it certainly qualifies for the label of fully examinable. AFA magicians, out of respect for our fellow performers, magicians are probably the worst examiners of other magicians props of anyone. You said yourself that you were fooled initially so to now say that you would have immediately found the gaffs is disingenuous IMO, as well as pretty arrogant. You just can’t be sure because you can’t “un-know” what you now know. Even owning the deck and knowing exactly what to look for it can be difficult to tell what’s what. |

I hope this whole thread never gets deleted.
It is more than gold to the scientific world and academics. If the owner of the Café is smart, he will turn it into a booklet and sell it to all the universities. You can only dream of this as a psychologist, psychiatrist and marketing specialist. Unfortunately, it also says a lot about what "Magic Art" has become. The Asian magic world is laughing his head off. |

I'm sure we've all had it happen where you give the deck to the spectator to examine, shuffle, whatever and in attempting to do so they fumble it all over the ground, table, etc. When you can pick up the mess and straightaway go into the trick, that adds an extra layer of convincing. Now, I know you can't scramble this up and go into the routine, but if you can just toss it on the table post-effect, the casual "I don't care if you play with it" cements it further. Can't wait to receive mine. Bozzy |

Another is do something where everyone in the audience is to think of a number and do a forced elimination with a double headed coin playing heads and tails. The last person standing who I forced comes on stage, names their number while I deal through a showing different names and their name is at their number. Also if don't want to get someones name, all the cards could be outfits and force card explains their outfit perfectly. |

Anyone else have a less than perfect deck? I got mine from PropDog... Firstly, they came looking a bit used and secondly, some of them aren't falling right when dropped to the table - I don't want to say too much as I don't want to give anything away, but about 10 of my cards are really obvious!
The effect and teaching are brilliant, the quality, not great with mine. Anyone else have problems? |
