My deck is loose (just as Craig describes) but not too loose. I think it works perfectly but it's easy to touch up if it starts to wear a bit. I think there may be some quality control issues.

Mine works well but it does seem a bit loose as well - I am noticing it most on the turn and count to the table...I know Craig addresses this in that if you do it quickly enough (not too fast) no one will notice as they're all white cards, but...they are burning your count right at that moment.

Vanishing Inc put out an email saying they were given permission to make these decks and sell in some of their own packaging. I will receive mine this weekend, we'll see how they differ from the one's Murphy's made. It's a bit of a bummer to receive this deck without the original packaging, as this was a gift for a friend. I can make my own decks, but wanted to support Craig.

You might even clearly spread over 2 or 3 and say you will do it even more openly on the table as you place those down and deal onto the table from there. |

Yeah there had been discussion on Craig and Lloyd's Podcast that it was actually the packaging that was the hold-up (at time of recording) on the next bunch, and Craig enquired if they could just release some without the fancy box to get the deck out to more people, seems Murphy's were cool with the idea.

I contacted Print by Magic about making a crib sticker for the bottom of the tuck case. To be sure, the math involved in this effect is fairly easy. However, a crib will allow me to focus entirely on my presentation. I worry about having a mental block in the heat of performance--especially since I'm a hobbyist and don't perform all the time.
After I make up the crib (next week or the week after, I hope), I wonder if Print by Magic could sell them to anyone who's interested. Cheers! Marc |

Guess you could diy it also if you really want to and have the materials. For $20 a new deck isn't unreasonable without the tutorial and fancy box.

This thread is so huge so my apologies if someone has already posted this idea.
My suggestion is to get a spare blank card and use a black sharpie pen to draw the atom symbol (three interlocking oval loops with a big black dot in the center as the nucleus) on both sides of the card and use it as your target card instead of a playing card. You could call this atom card a "quantum card" and have them write their initial inside one of the loops and tell them that "this card has superpositions meaning it can be in many different positions all at the same time until we measure it and the act of measuring stabilizes it to one position". By having the atom symbol on both sides this alleviates suspicions that a playing card elicits when doing the trick a second time and sometimes the spectator first sees the back and sometimes sees the face. Note that even though their initials are on one side of the atom card there is no sense of front and back on the atom (quantum) card (a good thing). Also if the initials are a concern then have them initial both sides of the atom card or just don't have them initial the atom card at all. Over time as initials clutter up the card you can make a new one very quickly because it takes about 15 seconds to draw the atom symbol on a fresh blank card. In fact you could have five or six pre-made atom cards. |
