Informative. Craig, I usually love your work, but you really need to take the L on this one. You're digging a hole, and your refusal to admit that you're wrong (and you are, objectively) is an extremely bad look. |

Obviously if people have a problem with the bud aspect of the prop they should ask for a replacement. I’ve not actually seen a salt ball disintegrate but that shouldn’t happen at all. As for the bubbles I don’t have a problem with them but if people have an issue then as I have offered I will pay their postage. What else do you suggest I do? |

The real question in my mind is why this ever got released knowing there were gigantic “air bubbles” in the first place. Hocus said all of their stock had flaws. So at some point, someone had to sit down and say, “there are a ton of flaws but if we pull them, we’ll take a bath. So let’s just release them and see what happens.” That’s what’s most confusing. PropDog isn’t typically a company that would ever do that. It’s like saying, “sure your new iphone is cracked, but at least it still works. Maybe you can come up with a cool story to explain the crack.”
At this point, it’s unclear who owns this release. Is it Craig? Is it PropDog? Is it both? Who knows. But whoever owns it should pull all defective stock from the market. I wouldn’t want a defective product with my name on it on store shelves. |

Craig, I understand that you don't have a problem with the one you have. It seems like you understand why some folks might be upset with bubbles and wonky balls. We've seen images of some of the variety for the former, if not the latter. But when there's that much of a range in quality, it kind of falls flat to say "well I don't have a problem with mine, nor do some others I spoke to" ... because you happened to have a good one, where the folks here are complaining because they got bad ones. And not just one or two, but a whole bunch of people. Many people have spoken here about the disintegrating balls, so if you "haven't heard of them", you either haven't been following the thread too closely, or didn't check in with Propdog for quality control on the thing you're putting your name on. I think that's really the thing people are frustrated by. The quality of props is very inconsistent, and the people in charge seem to be denying it without following up to fix the problem, apologize, or at least check to see how many items are affected, and issue a statement about it. |

It's time to cut Craig some slack. He has offered to put things right. The focus should be on the production company from here on in.

Or hoping that you could make up some story to cover up for the flaws. That is a lot of extra work for $200 which defeats the purpose of the high price. As I said this is "scammy" and "scummy" and shady AF. They should have all been pulled and fixed, but as I said they are taking everyone to the cleaners with defected products. It would be cheaper to just make my own and pour some resin the correct way to avoid bubbles. I think the only way to fix this is to recall all defective ones and redo them and lower the price drastically if you want them to actually sell. Otherwise you are just going to have a bunch of defective units sitting in storage with zero sales regardless, or quick returns wasting more time and more money shipping them back. As I said any company worth their "salt" would have never let these get to the market, or would have taken them all back by now. HP pulled them from their site completely it seems on their own, whoever else is selling them should do the same thing. So yeah, "PropDog" is not "great" they are scamming people or at least trying to until someone returns them on Craig's dime, which is ludicrous and scummy of them to do since they are making all of the profit on these overpriced junk. The fact that they would let Craig take the burden of paying to return these speaks volumes about them as a company, and I am not getting a "terrific" feeling about them by any means. So it all needs to be scrapped and they need to stop selling them or recall them all and fix them, period. The fact that Craig got the best set or that "he knows many who have no issues" is irrelevant. They all should have no issues as far as the quality and should be totally free of defects, period.

If your salt balls are falling apart there's a simple solution. PropDog are selling a spare set for only £15. https://www.propdog.co.uk/propdog/crystallize-salt-balls

I can live with that if it works well for a bunch of performances at least. $19 for a new set - when they easily fall apart?! Propdog is loosing their marbles with this release it seems....I might just get a set of white crochet balls and miscall them as "Salt balls" with air quotes and maybe get a chuckle. |

I really believe the right solution would be Prop Dog own up to the problem and tell anyone that's got a problem send it back for a complete refund. Eat it and move on.

I'm no physicist but surely one could heat the resin filled salt shaker in a microwave oven, changing the state of the resin from solid to liquid. Then anti-gravity will do it's thing and make the bubble go up and out or something.
Then one could leave the whole lot to cool down and hey presto, no more bubbles. Any boffins up for commenting on my idea? |

Prop Dog needs to understand the problem is not going away. This is going to haunt them for years if they don't step up and make things right. It would be nice to here them make a statement for a full refund. Everyone knows this is not a $35 trick it should not have any bubbles for the price there charging $$$$$.......

I doubt this effects Propdog. Look at Ellusionists past with some of their releases and customer dissatisfaction which never ended up haunting them.

I've got a proposal for Propdog: YOU pay ME $160, and I'll do you guys the favor of taking every single set of Crystallize to the garbage dump, where they belong.
