Thank you, and I’m really liking your progress. 😊 It shows a growing understanding of methods and the psychology behind how people perceive what they see. You are already ahead of that game as a mentalist, as you more expertly understand how they perceive what they perceive. 😁 With that, as you continue to understand & sharpen little things with coins, you will see things slow more & more to a natural pace in your presentations.
Good stuff my friend, and KMF! 😊👉🏽

The massaging of a coin into existence is good and open to many story lines.
I don't like actions in the Spellbound position as being "not how a lay person would ever hold one," but you don't overdo it and make it seem like a closeup display - good. Methinks more eye contact should be on the observers rather than the action, but that will come with confidence.

I'm not in favor of "camera-only" effects, but when making a video FOR a camera, with a limited performance window/area, compromises are made. Holding a coin in the "traditional Spellbound" is one of them. I have a Spellbound I perform for real people, that works in a about a 270(or more)-degree setting, and can be watched from above and below, but it would be difficult to film and be visible ON camera.... I'm finding many angle sensitive coin effects that look great "here" (on camera) have limited value in many uncontrolled real-world / in-person settings, and conversely, many effects that absolutely KILL in person, would not play well on camera. Regarding the eye contact, I mostly agree. I DO think however, if I was REALLY doing something so amazing as morphing a silver dollar into a paper bill, I would want to watch it as well....lol! (plus I'm still learning to look at the camera to see if its actually recording! Thanks! Bryn

That being said, the reason some of these quick videos I'm reposting from my Insta & TikTok are so quick is just that: those platforms seems to give you more engagement (i.e.: views/likes/followers = more trips to my art website = more sales and commissions...lol!) if the videos are shorts and quick. This seems to be a product of ever-decreasing attention spans in this digital age. This could be a whole thread in itself (and maybe I'll start one soon:) I DO think some of the classic psychological subtleties & principles that work so well in mentalism are underutilized in close-up "magic," and coin magic in particular. Many more will come to mind, but some include one-behind, one-ahead, dual-reality (the idea of the EFFECT for the participant being a 'little different'than for the rest of the spectators, but still strong nonetheless) verbal forces, instant "stooging," .... I could go on (and WILL at some point) but I feel combining the use of these mentalism ploy with very-proficient coin sleights will yield more than the sum of their parts. Toss in some of the amazing gimmicks that I am discovering (flippers, CSB sets, split-coins, etc.) and my creative side is on the warpath again.... Thanks, Marion! Bryn
