"No preparation" sounds like an outright lie. it also says: "Read the description below and tell yourself that you will be able to do it in only a few minutes!" that sounds like a lie too. especially if it takes you 2 hours to make it up yourself.

Make your own gimmick - simple, easy & effortless by using JUST ONE SINGLE CONTINUOUS STRIP OF PAPER.
https://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/view......t=1180#6 Hope that solves the problem of complicated construction of the gimmick. Enjoy! P.S. The script is a bit cryptic and hence this is meant only for those who already own the trick.

I have been getting PMs stating that the link shown above is dead. The link works good. The DIY instructions is at ----> Secret sessions » » Howie Diddits at the end of page 60 (last page).
Please note, one needs 50 posts to gain access to the 'Secret Sessions'. Hence, those who have less than 50 post, access to the 'Secret Sessions' is denied.

Okay... I said two hours for the arts and craft. Make it THREE to FOUR if it's not something you do often. Glue will be everywhere. Lots of little bitty pieces that are easily lost. I tried using blue paper, but the glue shows through. The paper that's shown in the sales prevue is not what you'll get in your packet. I'm still working on this. It'll take 35 to 60 minutes to make one gimmick. He's saying to make six.
If you don't want to be revealed, then the gimmicks will have to be precision finished. You'll will also have to remove them immediately (but not suspiciously) when the trick is done. I considered switching out the gimmicks for a not gimmicked replica that can be examined. Lots of work. For the arts and craft work and the sleight of hand that you will have to utilize a little to remove the gimmicks, I give it 2.5 stars. It can be more once the gimmicks are made and a switch is mastered. But is it worth it. Sorry for the negative review, but I wished someone had tipped me and saved me @$50 (shipping and handling). |

Love a lot of Mickael's creations/gimmicks but I have learned before purchasing anything from him it's best to wait for reviews.

Finally some reviews on making up the gimmicks.
As I posted previously in the thread, this will either be absolutely a great effect or a complete dud. Apparently it is a dud and dudnt make the cut for a great effect. Thank You, gents! I now know to avoid buying this. SURVEY SAYS! "X X X"

I'll be honest, I had high hopes for this, so it's a little disheartening seeing the frustration from those who have it. I am not an arts and crafts guy. And yet, I still like what I see and instead of trying to pass this on (which I'd been tempted to do as a knee-jerk reaction), I'm going to try to make it work. I haven't even watched the tutorial yet, let alone opened the package. I understand it'll be work. Something about this just tells me to put it together and give it a shot.
So, here's hoping I find myself making it work. Maybe I'm alone in it, but I still see potential, especially in a larger context and routine. I could get use out of this, so wish me luck. And if I do get it to come together, maybe I'll video my road-test and share it in a few weeks. Then again, I'm also lazy. |

I have also made them 1/4 inch bigger and with thicker paper. I was finding with the original paper provided, it wouldn't pop back open, but remain shut. Thicker paper solves this and hides the gimmick better. |

Evening,
I look at the messages and I do not understand why all this! I can assure you that "HEADS & TAILS" is really really good and the making is simple! I wanted to explain how to make the papers because it is easier to know how to make the secret again and again! I have already, in close-up, lost or damaged the papers, spectators have already spilled their glass of wine and damaged the papers! With the method, you can redo gimmicks and personalize them. I'm honest and I don't cheat... and read such nasty messages, I don't understand! I presented this trick in conferences all over the world and really, the reactions were really superb! really ! fortunately, many people write to me to say BRAVO to me, that they like very much and just for that I am happy! I hope to find better remarks for my future creations... good night Michael Chatelain |

In my recent post at the Secret Sessions, I had suggested a simple, easy and practical alternative to the complex method (IMO) taught by the creator of 'Heads-n-Tails'. Thus getting rid of those Arts-n-Crafts problems which people might face while constructing the gimmick. That's it, nothing more.
When constructing the gimmick, using the strip method, I suggest using stock paper (heavier paper) for both, durability as well as for the gimmick to work good. A little trial-n-error will tell you what paper thickness will works good for you. As you would have already understood, using the strip method, constructing the gimmick won't take much time & effort. In all my posts on this thread, I have praised the effect as well as the unique and clever gimmick. The one and only negative (if one may so call it) was that the gimmick cannot be handled by the spectator. I was hoping that one of our pundit's would come up with a suggestion how to tackle this issue, but sadly none came up with a solution. OK, here one SUGGESTED solution (please refer to the demo video):- 1. As seen in the demo video, push the FIRST billet towards the coin. 2. Show the prediction and wait for a moment for the prediction to be registered in the minds of the spectator. This is important. 3. Now, with one hand, push the coin towards one of the spectator, and simultaneously with the other hand pullback the billet and put it out of play. 4.Continue without delay, by moving the next billet towards the coin - show the prediction - wait for a moment - push the coin & withdraw the billet - billet goes out of sight . . . . and the process continues. 5. At the end of the effect, in case a spectator insists to inspect the billets, pull the billets out from its hiding and place them on the table. All's well that ends well. One needn't bother as to how many heads/tails are on the switched billets. The spectator, at this stage, is ONLY interested in inspecting the billets. Also during this time the spectator would have (hopefully ) picked up the coins and thus lost track of Heads/Tails. More the number of coins in play, the better the effect will work. IMO, this is a very good, clever, versatile & unique gimmick with lots of potential. The unique principle/method used in the working of the gimmick can be put to many other uses in magic/mentalism. Just my opinion. P.S. The script is a bit cryptic and hence the Strip Method is meant only for those who already own the trick.

I had high hopes about this product.
I paid €80 for 2 of them ($88), hoping to make 6 gimmicks. My big mistake! I received my order and build 4 gimmicks, following the instructions to the letter. It took me 2 hours. Well, I am very disappointed by the result because it just DOES NOT WORK! The gimmick remains stuck when you use it and does not react as shown on the demo video. Also, the provided paper is too thin and the secret material is visible thru the paper with light, so this product is not worth a penny in my opinion and I would not advise anyone to purchase it. There is a much better product about the heads and tails plot (or any dual outcome plot) on the market. It is cheaper, very well made, much more reliable and does not require any DIY. |

IMO, if the creator of this product had been confident enough about the practicality, reliability and quality of his product, he would have hand made it himself and provided it out of the box, without any DIY on the customer's side.
This approach has been adopted by countless creators and is more honest IMO, because the responsibility of the quality of the product must be borne by its creator, not by the customer. |
