Just heard from Clifford Ball ...
Doug has left us. I'm sad about this. Doug was an awesome guy. Known worldwide as the Phantom of the Midway ... the Monster Maker! I was just going through some of his creations I own, even more cherished and special to me now. Such great stuff. My condolences to his family. Rest in Peace, Doug. We'll miss you, man.

What a great loss. Didn't know the man personally but a big fan of his work and always struck me as a great guy. Such a pity.

Sad to hear this. He was a major contributor to Spooky. I looked at his last post here on March 5,2020 and it's rather apt, replying to a query,"Hope life is treating you well". He replied,"Life is doing other than that but who cares...I had fun.
 "

Doug and I were still working on the audio for the Slim King intro. Such a great entertainment legend !!!!! I was crushed when I got the call. I honestly treasure everything he made for me. Such a fantastic guy!!!! Rest in Peace Doug!!!

Sad news. I never had the privilege of knowing Doug in person, but was an admirer of his craft and we chatted periodically on Facebook. He will be missed. Rest In Peace Doug…

The Midway now is dark. The legend has joined the immortals, and we have lost a fine man, entertainer, personality, and artist. May he be always remembered and honoured.

That is indeed sad. I have many of his items, and he even did some voice recordings for me. The fellow was a genius and he will be missed.
