Attaching .25" Neo Magnet to silk corner suggestions?
I have made a real paint brush with a center post hidden by the bristles with a small Neo magnet at the end, also concealed by the bristles. My intent is to use the Paint Brush to lift the silks from a "special" metal tube. (disguised as a paint can) My first thought is to fold and sew the magnet into the corner, but has anyone ever tried to use "Super Glue" to attach a magnet to a silk? Maybe even clear packing tape? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |

Never tried super glue, but if you did, make sure to use a glue safe for fabric,
ordinary super glue has a quick drying time, so fast it's possible to burn fabric. |

If I were to attach the magnet, I'd stitch a conical pouch, starting at one corner and stitching the edges together until there was room for the magnet. Then, I'd stitch the opening shut to trap the magnet. This way, the corner would look normal when handled properly.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have a set I have sewn as you describe and that is CLEARLY the BEST way, but it takes a LOT of time and I have 9 silks to do. Looking for a better way. I will definitely be headed to the fabric store to look for a specific glue that is high power and fabric safe.

Color the magnets to match the silks, and put one on either side of the corner of the silk so they stick together. Just have a metal post in the brush without a magnet at the end. As long as the magnets have a stronger attraction to each other than the post, they'll stay on the silk.

Yes, I have super-glued disc magnets to silk corners. I folded the corner over the magnet after putting a drop of glue on both sides of the magnet.
The glue will leave an ugly stain on the silk, but for my purpose it doesn’t matter, and is permanently attached to silk.
