Looking for some good lines for the silk to egg .

My favorite at the moment :

I know what you think … where I can find a plastic egg …
Easy, you need to have a rubberchicken and wait 2-3 days. ( and you show a rubberchicken )

IN the same vein as your line, after revealing the hole and removing the silk, "It's a plastic egg...laid by a decoy...." Pretty stock, but still gets a chuckle.

Another vintage line = bang the solid (usually wooden) egg hard on your table and observe, "laid by a Plymouth Rock...".
