Magic and Showmanship 13 Steps to Mentalism Peek Performances Peek Encores
There are many tricks, and many effects, but rarely a Grand Effect. There are many entertainers, but few real magicians. Many technicians, but few artists who use their art to explore their vision. - Derren Brown, Absolute Magic

I'm going though Charles Jordan's Best Card Tricks. It's a very interesting book covering a nice range of techniques - gaffs, sleights, stacks, self-working, etc. For often well under $10, it's another Dover bargain.

Howard Thurston's 400 Tricks You Can Do. Not only does it go with my level, it also contains some really fine effects that are rarely seen.

Just finished enjoying "The Magic of Eddie Fechter" for the second time around. "Drawing Room Deceptions" is currently what is on my plate right now (and I foresee Vernon's "Book of Magic" and "Card College 2" in my near future).

Since I've become totally absorbed by gambling sleights and routines, it has to be Gene Maze and the Art of Bottom Dealing.
