Blank coins (or coins with no image) have not been available for a very long time. Both David Roth and myself have created blank coin routines, found in Rubinstein Coin Magic and on the NYCMS DVD series. Now, both blank coins (half dollar size) and mirror coins (same but with a mirror instead of satin finish) can be found on Meir Yedid's site (he owns the rights to all of David's magic). Unlimited applications, limited only by your imagination. You can find them here:

It's been awhile since I read about some of those routines. I recall a friend the jewelry business was able to create what I need. It is good to read about
a reliable source for thus utility prop.

Thank you very much for the heads up, Michael - those look very nice.
On another note - I've currently been playing around with Polarised Plastic from the miscellaneous chapter of the book. It's a lovely little piece. I've been using a slightly frosted disc just now, until I get the proper one.

Harris, hope your recovery is coming along. I think I may have done the same thing (torn my rotator cuff), although I wont find out for sure until my appointment next week.

Thanks Jim, I love that routine, it looks so magical, almost like an optical illusion. I may get Meir to make those discs down the line, but he has a lot of other projects coming up he has to get to first! I got my first look at the blank coins this week, and they are even better than the ones I used so many yrs ago!

Hey Dr. Rubinstein, thanks for this!
I've been wanting some of these for ages, so it's great that they're finally available.
The email I got said
Quote:
In around a month I will release David and Michael’s Blank Coins Routines. But until then I am offering the coins on their own for you to pursue your own applications.

but the item page says
Quote:
Comes with access to a video tutorial.

Do you know any more about this? Will purchasers (now) be able to get the routines by you and David when they come out? Or will that be a different item and/or cost more down the road?

Any preferences between the satin and mirror finish?

Thanks!

I don't know what Meir intends to do, but you should drop him an email. I like the satin finish for my blank coin routine, but the mirror coins are interesting and can be used for a Twilight routine, Alice through the looking glass, etc, and of course any blank coin routine where the mirror reflects an image of a coin and can become that coin, etc.

Just talked to Meir. For now he has released the blank and mirror coins, with a download from Meir explaing uses for the coins. In a few months he will release the Blank Coin routines from myslf and Roth, with the coins and purse, and downloads of both routines.
