How to Make an Instructional Video
You have decided to market your new magic creation. That’s great news. First things first though. You must create a instructional video. Here are some helpful hints: Set the stage: 1 – Wear a long-sleeve shirt or jacket that is the same colour as your pants, close-up pad and your backdrop. Better still, wear a white shirt and black pants, have a white background and use a black close-up pad. 2 – Be sure your close-up pad has your name and logo on it. Even better, have them facing you so that the writing is upside down to the viewer Equipment and Lighting: 1 – Don’t be afraid to use your smartphone to do all your work. The built-in microphone is excellent for this task and can easily pick up your voice from several feet away. The built-in production apps are even better! 2 – Tripods are optional 3 – Use whatever lighting you happen to have in your video shooting room. Don’t worry about shining any extra light on your hands. Your viewer will be able to guess what you’re doing. 4 – Be sure to speak in a low voice and add ear-splittling club music to define your segues. 5 – If you’re really creative, tilt your camera in all sorts of crazy angles and liberally use quick-cut edits and splicing to give your video that extra millennial hipness. After taking a Gravol, your audience will really appreciate your creativity! Content and Scripting: 1 – Assume your audience doesn’t already know basic moves. For example all packet trick videos must provide a long and detailed explanation of the Emsley Count. 2 – If English is not your first language then your performance demonstration should be in your native language with no subtitles and your explanation script should contain only the following three phrases: “Do dees”, “Den do dees one” and “Et voila, ess gut, no?” Distribution: 1 – Be sure to put your video on-line using a portal that requires users to sign-up for a membership and receive daily spam e-mails from said portal Evaluation: 1 – Review your sales data and try to come up with an explanation for why your new trick gets bad reviews and doesn’t sell very well. |
