It plainly marcs four my revue
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.
Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight for it two say
Weather eye am wrong oar write
It shows me strait a weigh.
As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite
Its rare lea ever wrong.
Eye have run this poem threw it

Its letter perfect awl the weigh
My checker tolled me sew.

That’s very rare.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Isn't spell check when a wizard opens his grimoire to make sure that the incantation is correct?

WordStar was the most popular document editing software in the late 1980's. About 1988 they came out with dictionary lookup add-on called "spell check."
All later such software is based on that innovation, though given different names. see Wikipedia

"WordStar is a word processor application for microcomputers. It dominated the market in the ... WordStar's word count command and Ctrl+QL was its spell check command."

Thanks. I've never owned a computer, but I have won several spelling contests.
