I really don't have any idea what this is called, but I have seen it done and would like to learn hwo to do it. So I'll try describe the effect and if anyone could tell me where it could be learnt, I'd be very grateful
The effect: The performer cuts the deck into two packets and twists his hands together taking packets off from one half of the deck and twisting it around. I hope this is understandable! -Niko

I think the cut you are talking about is in T.G. Murphy's book Imagication. I can't remember what it's called or what pages it's on, but I think that's what you are talking about.
Maybe the butterfly cut that McBride teaches on his manipulation series. |

If any of you could provide a video on it and I could verify if it is the thing I'm talking about.
Thanks -Niko

I believe Brian Tudor has a cut like that in showoff. Here is a clip of it being used in the exchange video sold at hocus-pocus and penguin. It is used in the second trick in the video.

This cut is credited to Chris Kenner it can be learned on the Brian Tudor video Showoff II. Not too sure what the name of the cut is , bloosming or something.
-Sean I believe it is called Awesome Blossom Production. -Sean |

Thanks a lot. Do you know if that is the only place it can be learned? Or are there others?
Thanks again to everyone who responded - the Café has helped me find something I didn't know the name of. -Niko

I believe that you can learn the same (or very similar) cut as a complete false cut in Volume 1 of The Very Best of Jay Sankey.

You can read the cut out of Chris Kenner's book, but you might have a hard time finding the book.
I'm surprised that you were talknig bout the Sybil Cut. Your description was pretty funky. |

Seems to me that the description is of a sybil. In Kenner's Totally Out of Control (which I found on ebay a while back but is not there anymore) has Kenner's Five Faces of Sybil. Troy Hooser's videos have his Illogical cut inside which is sort of a sybil. Brian Tudor and the Bucks are the best to go for sybils. You must check out Brian Tudor's Showoff 1 and 2. Then go on to people like the Bucks. Myself I only do two sybils, Brian Tudor's What the Hell Happened to Sybil 2 and the Bucks' Madonna. (can't wait to see Madonna 2 and 3 BTW) For a killer sybil concept, check out De'vo's Cradle to the Grave DVD. The Cradle to the Grave routine is awesome.

The awesome blossom production is the part in which the four aces are produces face-up in a flower fashion. The multiple cut is one of the variation (or the original?) of the Sibyl cut.
If you want to get into this kind of stuff, I would advise you to take a llok at Brian Tudor "show-off" vol. 1 & 2. It's all devoted to this kind of fancy cuts. Some are real cuts, some are false, but all are weird looking. The Buck's brothers already mentionned are "devoted" to fancy cuts too. They seem to have a DVD coming out this summer. Jonathan. |
