I'm looking for different ideas to anchor IT when doing effects. Any ideas? I have lots of IT effects to trade.

I use IT every weekend. I anchor IT to my cabinet since it's thee throughout the show. No need to have "motivation" or an explanaation for the caminet being there.

I use to put it on the bottle of my drink. When I went to do magic, I put the drink down on the bar or table.

At a table, any excuse to "make room" gives ample opportunity to hook up. I had really good luck once with a ketchup bottle. It was full, glass (meaning heavy), and the cap made a perfect anchor point.
No trees were killed in the making of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Hi Street!
Yes, I regularly perform with IT...blue #139 Y.L.I. Wooley...and it's great! If you wear a busy shirt (like the one I'm wearing in my avatar), and stand so you cast a shadow over your work area, you can do it in flourescent lights! For a really wonderful book of ideas, I cannot recommend this book any higher: Click Here! OR: Here! The only two places I can find this...get it while you can! Doug Oops! One more I found right here in the USA: Click Here! Sorry, I just now found this... Hope it helps! |

Hi Doug!
do you use blue thread because of your clothes or because you find it more invisible than black thread? Flo |

Actually, Flo...This stuff came with my Wunderbar, back in the 70's...When I found the Y.L.I., I snatched up a couple spools, then I tried various colors, black, green, purple, earth-brown...they're all the same! INVISIBLE!
Black is fine...I performed with black the other day, and it was great! Completely KILLED 'em! Some say blue IS the best, but in my experience IT is IT...just turn yourself so you cast a shadow on your "work" area, and either use LeClair's hook-up (I modified it slightly...I use my tongue to animate), or a two-point (Floating Rose), keeping the IT in line with line of sight. I usually wear a shirt with a busy pattern, so black OR blue works fine, in that instance. Cheers! Doug |
