My first problem is the stack part. The instructions say click on it and you can see the whole stack but it only shows about 28 cards.
Also I was adding my stack and it don't show or add all the cards.
Anyone figure out why or is this just on my phone?

There's a button that goes to the Maxim Facebook group on the app's main screen.

Would there be any possibility to do this with a picturecard deck for example or is it limited to regular playing cards?

You can translate any card st*ck to a picture card st*ck and vice versa because of the positions.

Hola all,

I'm looking forward to the reviews. I've held back on purchasing this as there was so much hype about Lux and so many mixed reviews about it, once it was released. My initial thought with this is, would the spectator be curious as why you're on the phone whilst performing? I can understand if you was just pretending to mute an incoming call or looking at an incoming message quickly, but anything longer than that, would cause suspicion. I know there is the guise of using a timer, but is that it?

Thanks

Joogy

Are future updates better guaranteed via an app store purchase ?

Now I could use the Joyal Stack. And the app works fine for me. I tried the trick for a friend and he freaked out. This is a great magic digital concept. I will use it and I give Maxim app 10 out 10 for nice and strong magic effect. And, its easy to use.

I have not got Maxim as yet but have ordered. If this is as good as advertised then I find the price exceedingly generous which is rather unusual for such an app, so thank you Lloyd.

Boy am I glad the Café is back up.
Now,
I’ve always liked Lloyds releases for the most part including this one. ( I said for the most part as I was not a fan of how LUX was handled ) The one thing I’d like to point out is to be careful when it comes to these type of apps. I have had plenty of them and will continue to buy many more. Tech is a very tricky subject in magic especially apps. Updates have been a real challenge to keep up with when you have so many different ones out. (Recent history tells us this story) I won’t, but I could name a few that just don’t see the updates anymore. Or the app designer doesn’t have time to address all the minor bugs of previous apps due to high demand for the current ones. Joshua is an up and coming developer with a knack for these apps and a ton of potential. However, his plate seems pretty full Imo. I’m not saying that as a negative. I’m simply pointing out that there are a lot of projects that don’t receive the type of attention they need after release. Unless your name is Marc Kerstein. Then it always gets addressed immediately.

I did in fact buy this. Not because I felt I couldn’t live without it. But rather out of support for Joshua/Lloyd and curiosity on what could be established or replaced in my routines. ( app wise ) For me, and only me, it’s not what the kids these days would call a “banger”. Although, it will get great reactions with the right conditions and circumstances. What you see in the promo is exactly what you get. It looks just like it. Now, I’m not a st**k kind of guy ( and that may very well be the reason it’s not a banger for me lol ) But I can see where this would play super strong with certain types of people. When it it comes to performance that will be solely based on how comfortable or bold the performer is with allowing people to handle the deck in specific ways. Especially if you’re looking to maximize the reactions. It’s not mandatory to do so but I feel like it would raise the height of reactions if people do handle the deck behind their back. ( risky, but worth it ) Of course there are many other ways to achieve the end result and that will depend on the performers preference.

For some this will be the next best thing since sliced bread. For other it may just be an additional option on performing magic. In my opinion, it’s not a bad application. It does what’s described and can get great reactions. These are my initial thoughts at the moment. Nothing is set in stone for me as they’re subject to change in the future. With all that said, I’m just stoked to be active in the Café.

Congrats on the release

I’m only scratching the surface but a very clever and full featured app. Lloyd points out if you are Asi Wind (he doesn’t name names) you can do accaan from a stack doing the math in your head but if you are math challenged and or don’t work at it ally’s time it can be tricky this is a neat and reasonably priced solution for this sort on effect.

I purchased this from VI and am stuck in Murphy's app store. I have activated the app, but the "open Facebook community " button and the "download" button do nothing. They just open blank pages.
Anyone else had similar problems?

Mine stopped working.
Need to reset licence but it doesn't tell you how to do it.
Reached out on fb but no reply yet.

Don't get me wrong... The app is certainly nice, especially for lazy people. But as a memdeck worker (since decades) this app has no appeal at all for me... I can do the same easily without any app; I have to admit that you have to know your stack very well and "cold" and that you have to add some "thinking on your feet". But that's also really a lot of fun - and you are flexible and always language independent. If I think (e. g.) of Juan Esteban's "The Point-of-View Card Trick" (see in Steve Beam's "SACT" VIII) I got a far nicer and fun routine... Jan

I think the app has good potential.
I too have been using the Aronson stack since the 1980's and certainly know it "cold" but why not take some of the "thinking on your feet" pressure off.
Each to his own of course. If the app is reliable then I'm not averse to using an added layer of support.
I quite like the subtlety of your phone pinging which is a very innocent occurrence and should fly past lay people (if not magicians).
This may give me better access to other stacks I've considered using over the years (Redford being the main one).

Agreee 100%. I feel at $25 you're renting an app that may not be updated forever, but we buy gimmicked decks that wear out and cost more than $25. The pricepoint on this one doesn't make me think so much of future updates and bug fixes. Surely for the next 6 months there will be tweaks, but for $25.....This is not in the same area of a $75+ app.

I bought this from the app store. I have been working on memdeck stuff since October of last year and certainly don't know it "cold". I think this will be the kind of trick that I will do for a while that will help me with the creative side of which I am severely deficient. If one day it stops working, I'll deal with it then.
