I own this effect and love it, although I don’t think it will be for everyone. The wallet only really looks like a wallet from the front. It will not pass any type of inspection whatsoever. And what Saverie said is 100% accurate. There are two versions of the effect, one of which uses elastic thread which I can imagine being harder to maintain than rubber bands. According to the tutorial the black leather version uses rubber bands. For me the rubber bands have been pretty good so far (knock on wood) lasting well more than a few days use without breaking. As far as the issue of removing frames from the trailer, I can understand why this might have been done bc although the mechanism is lightning fast (plenty fast enough for the naked eye), it is probably not fast enough for a 60fps video slowed down to 0.25 speed on youtube. As soon as someone does this, the method is known and trick is ruined. The mechanism is so fast that sometimes, I’m not even sure that if I’ve triggered the mechanism bc it looks to me like nothing has happened.

OK, I finally gave in and in a weak moment I ordered Flick Wallet Plus.
So far I am not regretting my purchase.

This newer version uses the rubber bands instead of the elastic thread which is probably a good thing. But note that these are not rubber bands like the you would use in Crazy Man’s Handcuffs, these are very thin black rubber bands. But they seem like they would hold up pretty well and they do give you a few extra in case any break. This version gives you 2 changes but you can only use one if you prefer. I was planning on mainly using a single change, most often asking a cashier if they take cash and then instantly changing the cash to a credit card. But now I’m thinking I may use the 2 changes and ask if they take Sears card, then a AAA card, and finally cash. Just to have some fun with them.

I still hate to think I spent $130.00 for this but on the other hand it does do what it promises AND it just may be the one thing I get more use out of than any other prop I own. I mean you can find a use for this in almost any close-up or small parlor show you do. If you want to go casual and you are out with friends then it’s almost too easy to work this into any situation. Want something quick and easy to provide a moment of astonishment to a cashier or waitress? Well, here ya go, this is perfect for that.

It works well and seems like it will last for a decent of amount of time. This is my new EDC. No, you can’t use it for your every day wallet, and NO it can’t be examined. But honestly, in the short time this is seen by spectators it will look like a common minimalist wallet which are very popular these days.

I can’t really recommend it simply because it’s so expensive. But if you have money to burn or you have an upcoming birthday and your significant other is hounding you for gift ideas, well, this is a fun toy you’ll have an awful LOT of fun with. And that’s really what this is, an expensive toy to give you and someone else a few laughs and possibly a memorable moment. So if that is worth $130 to you and you can afford it, then by all means go for it. I doubt you’ll regret it. I haven’t had this much fun with a toy in quite some time.

Excellent review, VM and Thank You! It is great ot hear that this was improved. I carry two wallets with me anyway and would consider a third with the routines that I like to do.

With this one could also force a card or billet.
With the three coins, one could disappear and then be revealed in your hand or elsewhere, etc.
If doing a transpo where the spec is holding the prop in their closed or covered hand, have what theu believe to be holding appear in the wallet.
At a restaurant I would have the server watch me draw on paper to mimic money and then switch it to actual money for their tip.

How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

Thanks EZ, yeah, this is truly a utility item and you’re basically only limited by what will fit in the window pocket of the wallet. I haven’t tried using coins yet but I presume it should work fine as long as there is not too much weight.

It’s probably worth noting also that it may be difficult or impossible to do two separate complete changes unless maybe you wish to go from an empty wallet and cause something to instantly appear. For the double change this is really intended to change A to B to C, and before you can do the second change (B to C) you need to remove B from the wallet momentarily and then replace it back inside the wallet, you’re actually replacing it in a different pocket than you removed it from but no one will be able to discern that and it doesn’t much matter if they did anyway.

There will soon be a low-priced version that also seems to be very good => Shocking Pass Case 2024 by Tenyo Magic

The magician shows the transparent compartment of a wallet and inside it puts a white piece of paper after having folded it.
He gives the transparent compartment a "snap" and take out the piece of paper that will now magically have writing on it !
The same can be done with a playing card of hearts, for example, which will turn into a spades and for many more
transformations in full sight ! Price approximately $25 https://www.murphysmagic.com/product.aspx?id=75361

I wonder how the Tenyo version will compare?

Another similar type of effect that I also like a lot is also from Tenyo and called “The Cash”. Although it’s not a change, only a flash appearance but still a fun one to do when paying for something. I have two of them. One is plain and I say I didn’t realize I was out of checks, and the second one I made to look like a little pocket sized personal ATM machine.

It’s even cheaper, under $15 bucks!

Looks good if you let your imagination run with a few ideas.

OK, so I had to get the Shocking Pass Case Tenyo 2024.
https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S35935

It’s basically exactly like the Flick! Wallet. Same method, same gimmick, Just a LOT LESS expensive.

Now to be fair, the Tenyo version isn’t made quite as well and it only does a single change whereas the Flick Wallet PLUS enables you to do TWO changes. For the difference in price, it’s hard to justify the 2 changes and a better grade of synthetic leather (pleather vs vinyl.) But I think Tenyo does supply you with more “extras” in case you need them.

As with Tenyo’s excellent The Cash from 2022 (https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/18203) I think this is an effect EVERY magician should own. You can use it whenever you are out and paying for something.

It’s a fun and memorable moment of astonishment.
