Welcome to the Café! You can find the answers to many questions here by typing the question into your internet browser and adding "magic Café" to the end of it.
For instance: favorite online magic shops magic Café, or, online magic shops magic Café, will give you a list of search results to browse through. Some of the shops in the older threads might be closed, sadly, but- Having said that, I really like Penguin Magic and Magictricks.com both for prices and their customer service. There are also many things you can get at thrift stores, dollar stores, Walmart, Amazon, etc. that are props or can be used in magic tricks. Rope, cards, silks, coins, bills, paper, pens, pencils, matches, rubberbands... If you don't have any books on magic, get a few beginner books like Amateur Magician's Handbook, Mark Wilson's Complete Course In Magic, The Magic Book by Harry Lorayne, etc. Check the beginner book section here on the Café for more recommendations. In these books you will find many tricks that don't require a magic shop and you can get the needed items from the stores mentioned above. Have fun!

Before BUYING any books - check out the Local Library - Both Adult and Youth Sections - I worked p/t at one for 16 years - Lots and Lots ans lots AND several Libraries can barrow from a sister library - check their catalogs. Then buy what you need. Google also.
