Thanks for the video. I have used a Ridge Wallet for many years and this concept will work with that also. Great idea.

If you cut a hole in the money side and place the money back in you do not need to take card you credit cards out at all. The cards goes in the middle and you reinforce the money side suggesting if I get this wrong you can have the moneys as that makes sense to remove for the side bet. You then put the monies back in after getting your peek, flash both sides and then reveal Gaz ps the money side will never be then hot side imo Gaz:)

I have been reading the Dai Vernon book recently, and he talks about how magic without some sort of theater or entertainment is really boring for most. This demonstrates how magic can be entertaining. I too incorporate my past into routines, like the time I was shot at with a machine gun and survived, or the time when at age 10 we spent a couple weeks vacation on a very undeveloped island and every day at around 11 am when I was done snorkeling, the bartender would get me food from the closed kitchen and teach me how to drink tequila. True stories. My routine for the tequila is the torn and restored rolling paper. It's a humorous routine because the audience thinks that he is teaching me something else, and then the story kicker is he is showing me magic in addition to teaching me to drink tequila. KJ |

After the highly successful launch of the FREE "DIY Steel Money Clip Peek Device", we have now moved into phase-II - The Thoughts/Ideas/Methods/Tips/Routine & Performance phase.
It is nice to see some great routines/ideas being created for the SMCP Device. And with that, we are now slowly but steadily moving towards creating a COMPLETE package for this device. Once again, a big THANK YOU to Bill (Stunninger) for his generosity and kindness for sharing this wonderful device with the community. THANK YOU Sir!

Just checked out the video. I gotta say, this is a lovely balance of simple, effective, and deceptive, in a package that I really wouldn’t mind carrying around. Nicely done!

I think it was in the early 80s when I heard David Copperfield say something to the effect of, the future of magic would not be tricks but theater that captures the imagination and engages emotions. Something along those lines, anyway. Thank you for sharing. . |

However, if a gimmick is unavoidable then the lesser the gimmick parts in a prop/device the better. In the SMCP device we already have a gimmick part and adding one more is not advisable. Just MY opinion.

It is a nice idea and its also very easy to do. Moreover, if you usea a clip like the one on the video, you can even use the device as a Himber wallet.

I'm late to the game. Just watched the video. Brilliant! Easy to make, easy to use and gets the job done. Amazing how a simple idea can outdo any of the complicated gadgets out there. Congratulations, Stunninger!

Here's one I made up but I'm sure some can make it better:
Well, you got me thinking. I just made up a quick idea so I'm sure others that have better DIY skills can make it better. I found a business card that had a kind of logo on one side that looked like a christmas present box. Using a razor blade I cut out the box. I then re-attached the box into the hole and, on the other side, put a tiny piece of tape to attach only one side of the box. This cut out now acts as a tiny flap that can open up the swing back into place. So, using your idea, that cut out card is on the bottom of the stack of prepared cards. You put their card in the middle and, as you talk, you can briefly expose the bottom of the stack and they'll see a card there and can't see a way you could see their card. As you come down with you hands you move your finger away that was keeping the flap in and it opens up and you can take a peek through it. I hope I explained that right. I'm not set up for video here so I can only describe it.

As for a routine, I would probably have them look at the top most business card or credit card and tell them to come up with some thought they associate either with the card or number. For instance, you have them look at your credit card and say that you recently made a weird purchase. Have them stare at the card and write down the first weird thing that comes to mind. Later you recount what you bought and it matches what they wrote.
By the way, realize you can do more than one thought. This would be perfect for a Name/Place type routine. You take one of the cards they wrote on and put it away. You start to put it one the clip and realize you haven't taken the other card. you slip the other card below the one you just placed and take a second peek.
