For 15 years, maybe longer, I have carried my cash and cards in my front pocket, held in a steel clip, much like this one:

Since this is what I actually carry, I've often thought it would be great if it could be used as a peek device. I finally made one, using my existing clip. It took about 15 minutes and didn't cost anything, as I already had everything I needed. It works with standard US sized business cards, and you can see the peek clearly in most any lighting conditions. The core method is very old and very simple. But it is something you can easily make yourself quite inexpensively. And if you already carry a steel money clip, who knows, you might just like this.
