So I could use 4 randomly chosen cards and their corresponding twin for a total of 8 cards: what do you think? Other suggestions are welcome! ;-) Thanks!

Just put them in a drawer and use them for this trick. My suggestion is to tear the cards. The audience will react much differently than if you choose the option of using four couples of mates .. Mark
