Tell him exactly what you are looking for, I think he is willing to customize his offerings for specific needs. https://roykueppers.com/product/individual-boxes-or-lid/ There might be some Johnson Products plug boxes floating around still, those would be good if you can find one. I checked tricksupply.com and they didn't show one and they're supposed to have bought out the last of the Johnson production. You might reach out to them to check. On a side note, I think it interesting that a box with so little machining costs as much as it does, but as they say it is what it is. Maybe you can find a local machinist to make one up.
It's never crowded on the extra mile....

Also, get in touch with Jake Jr at Airship Magic. He may be able to help also.

Can you be more specific about what you're looking for?
What size coins? A particular manufacturer or style? What brand of Okito box do you have/are you trying to match? It sounds like you have one already (rather than your looking for a new Okito + plug) and that changes things significantly. I've also almost never seen a 5 coin box, they're usually 4 these days. Plug boxes don't hold anything, they're solid. Copeland coins has some very nice ones in both sizes - and lots of varieties - though they're a little pricey. Tango also has some, if you don't want to go the custom route. |

What does it mean "his boxes have to match"? If you just buy his plug, it's not 180 (only if you buy an Okito, too).
Roy does them, and you could also buy something like a Duvvier box -https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/money-magic/duvivier-coin-box/ Or, if all you want is a solid cylinder, and it doesn't have to match any patterning/exact sizing you have on your current box, you could do something like buy one of these: https://www.amazon.com/3-Piece-Cylinders......82FJFF6B That particular one is the wrong dimensions, but if you buy one that's closer it would be straightforward to just cut it down to side and sand it. Maybe check your local hardware store? It's all a tradeoff of how much work you're willing to put in vs money. Ray: I agree, I never quite understood what made them cost so much. That said, I think the machining is more work than you might think at first. Stuff like a slot box is probably tricky to do. I recall Jeff saying that his boxes had as many steps to make as some complicated aerospace parts. Of course, if that's to add a bevel to the bottom rim, I'm not sure that should count... |
