Hi All -
Just saw this on YouTube: https://youtu.be/z8J0-Qu67qg Looks fascinating. Has anyone seen this live? |

Not live but it seems to be the same peter pan theater harness hook-up that most plays use.
If you can translate what they are saying, I am sure you can get a better perspective on how it works. Anyhow, here's the link behind the scenes. Hope that helps everyone here to learn more about this rig. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9CF5Yr-oFQ |

Are we sure that PP rig is the same between the performance video and behind the scenes? I mean it’s literally invisible in the former and that’s some heavy gauge in the latter. Has the tech improved this much? I’d like to learn more about the state of the art as it exists today. I have a practical use for this if it’s as hidden as in the performance video.

Thank you, that confirms what I thought. Part of me had hoped that your “basic” PP method had advanced to be relatively invisible these days but my research didn’t confirm that. I understand why. Thanks!

I saw them performing this in their most recent live at Wembley Arena in London... and this moment was totally gobsmakingly stunning.
I think the answer to znelson's question "has the tech improved this much?" is a resounding, yes. https://youtu.be/z8J0-Qu67qg?t=313

When I see that I think DC flying, basically the same method but updated to allow more graceful moves. The asrah vanish has me stunned… I mean I can’t see how that’s BA given the lighting up there. These guys really impress me. I love their take on Interlude as well.

The routine was excellent and the vanish at the end (with the narrative of their transformation into two images of birds flying off into the distance) was gobsmakingly incredible and astonishing.... it was two guys, vanishing simultaneously in mid air. That had the whole arena up on its collective feet and no one jumped up quicker than the magicians in the crowd. It was an incredibly spectacular moment.

I had never seen this footage before.
I’d be interested to see how the routine looks live. Anyone have a clip of it from a live performance? |

I’m not a layman but not a performing professional either, and I can personally say I am stunned by this. As a new designer, I have my theories but I’m not so sure about it. They do a fantastic job.

Is this a Gaughan built system? Does anyone know who the builder was?

I don't know, but I don't think its Gaughan. Might even be big one like Tait… but don't know. Feels very hitech.
Totally agree with Ryan, would love to see a live performance instead of a polished-in-post special.

I love Tait. Used to live nearby and almost worked there!

If you watch prior to the asrah vanish the capes/silver material dip all the way down to the floor of the stage which is obscured with smoke. Then the capes/silver material rises, the asrah becomes more visible and the vanish occurs.
Still pretty spectacular. |

then click the captions button then click autotranslate and all the languages (including english) will come up on a pull down menu - click your desired language and "voila" you have your translation |
