Hi guys it's been almost a decade since the last time I was here. Just wanted to share this: I've been playing around with different ideas for spellbound sequences just for the fun of it.
It's mostly experimentation, hope you'll enjoy it! https://www.instagram.com/reel/CkdQPpPKr......opy_link Let me know what you think here or in the comments of the video!
I hope you understand, my dear friend, that everything you are seeing is a lie, but everything you are feeling holds true.

I enjoyed it as I've been researching spellbound routines myself just lately, I would be interested to hear some actual patter along with the effect as when working in the real world we don't have the luxury of background music ;-)

Nice. I like the fact you keep it simple. No coin rolls, thank you!

Warren, with today's technology, using the computers we carry in our pockets for texting, phone calls, social networking, banking, shopping, and various other things, we do have the luxury of background music.
Thank you to OliveroG for sharing. I found that to be quite beautiful. |

I do not think it has impact beyond the sheer feeling of difficulty. Although I think that people can appreciate when their eyes are fooled, I think that this particular sequence has the value of technical exploration, rather than being a piece that would cause the sort of impact I seek for. For my working pieces I come from the idea that the method must not be seen, felt or intuited, meaning that method is apparently unexistent (feat that is achieved by many, but not all of the routines there are) and I think that this sequence has the flaw of telegraphing the existence of a secret, digital technique. I think Vernon's original sequence deals with this in a much better way. I must also confess that I tried to find sequences like this that would have the impact I look for, but I haven't found one that fullfils the criteria I use. This has made me give up most of the spellbound sequences, most of the three fly sequences (and I have done way too many variations, I really liked that effect) and also many wild coin sequences.

OliveroG,
I enjoyed your routine. I especially like the opening production. I believe that a COMPLETE vanish at the end would enhance your routine a great deal. |
