Michael Skinner's "Ultimate Three Card Monte" and "Mike Rogers' Unconquered Card" routines are almost identical. Does anyone know which came first? I'm guessing that both Skinner and Rogers came up with their routines independently and kept their respective routines to themselves before they decided to release them on the market.
Also, I'm curious whether the same basic gimmicks might have been used for monte routines even earlier than these two. Hofziuser, maybe? Or DeLand? Did a jumbo card stage version with the same basic principle exist before either Rogers or Skinner applied it to regular-sized cards?

Thanks for any insights/replies.

Coincidentally, I was the illustrator of the instruction booklet for Skinner's routine. Mike Rogers, who was a friend of mine, was surprised and contacted me about how I got involved in the Skinner routine. I explained that I had illustrated a few books for L&L and they commissioned me to do the drawings.

Am not an expsrt on this but believe Mike Rogers was on the market first. Not sure who developed and performed it first. The gaff is credited to Deland. Certainly many jumbo versions including the well known super jumbo version from Supreme that may have been released prior to both.
